Very nice wildlife refuge. Easy walking trails and boardwalks for long walks into nature. I counted at least 7 egrets and lots of tree swallows, but there were also cardinals, swans, ducks, and robins. Funny how peaceful this is with the backdrop of NYC and the NJ turnpike. My only issue was getting here from Arlington – my GPS took... More

I love just taking a walk through all of the trails. See the changes of each of the seasons. Bird watching, critter watching. Local schools have their elementary school graduations here. It's a perfect setting. A very special place with amazing views of NYC. You can walk as little or as long as you want.

This hidden gem in the Meadowlands is good for the soul. The Nature center is informative. Staff is always helpful. Visit here everytime I am back in NJ. View of NYC is great. Walking on floating docks through the marshlands is awesome.

It's fun discovering all these unknown spots locally. Unknown to me at least. Have to thank Trip Advisor & the reviewers for posting things to do & see in my area. Getting here was a bit confusing for me. I used my GPS & was coming from the Little Red Schoolhouse in Lyndhurst (which isn't far from the park). It... More

Dekorte Park surrounding the conservation headquarters is a marvelous and completely unexpected delight. There are miles of easy walking and biking trails in the park and on adjacent properties. 12 types of ducks are found here, as well as Eagles, muskrats and many other types of wildlife. The park headquarters contain a very interesting museum tracing the history of the... More

Inbeing from out of state, I never thought the Meadowlands would have such a large nature center so close to Newark. It is right on the water and has trails and viewing areas. We enjoyed the birding and flower plantings and butterfly gardens.

Where have I been? The MC Trail is beautifully rustic and full of birds documented with facts on species, history and geography of the area. With more trails tucked away I truly LOVE this place. Benches are there to enjoy the view. Walk, explore, meditate in quiet. So precious to have this park in a very hectic part of the... More

I come here for relaxing bike rides. Usually very nice but they have had the outermost area under construction and blocked off for what feels like a year.. They did complete the damages from Sandy so I guess they are moving on to newer projects. It's just very slow. Tons of birds to watch, always small critters running around. A... More

Visited in late summer for the first time, and I look forward to going back during the other seasons. This place is definitely worth occasional visits if you live nearby, and at least one visit if you are passing through and have time to burn. Probably not worth a trip from a distance just for this park by itself. Interesting... More

Five stars for a little secret oasis right in my hood! This park is so charming and cool that it was built on an old landfill. Always quiet and relaxing to be there. I find it a great place to go and free my mind. Nice walks in a semi industrial surroundings. Not your usual park. Well done NJ Meadowlands... More
