Not too many people were visiting on a cold day in February, but several people inside asked if they could answer questions. The place is run by Mercer County and there is publicity material available in an anteroom. (see picture of entrance). An adjoining barn has various farm-related items (picture).

The Howell Farm is managed by Mercer County, and they do a great job with the place. Always great activities almost year round with focus on major holidays and key farming activities. Usually a different one every Saturday when the farm is open. Start in the main building to check the schedule and register (if needed) for any special event.... More

We went on a beautiful Fall day, the colors on the trees were changing and all looked so nice and serene with the animals in the picture and the scenery of the buildings and trees. Nice place for little kids to see some animals and get some fresh air.

I have been there several times for their Halloween event. The hay ride through their fields are a thrill for children and adults too. The food and drinks are good and refreshing on a day out in the fresh air.

Howell Living Farm has a great corn maze they run each year to raise funds for the farm. It is approximately 5 acres in size. You enter the maze and need to find mailboxes that contain pieces of the maze. When you have all of the pieces you have a completed picture of the maze to use to find your... More

We brought our grandchildren on a weekday (school was in session) and received a personal tour by Miss Jane of the animals at the farm. Miss Jane is a wealth of information and a real natural with the kids. They pumped well water for the horses, collected eggs from the chickens and watched in awe as Miss Jane clipped an... More

This is our second year going to the corn maze. Howell Farm does a great job! $10 to enter the maze. You have to collect puzzle pieces & answer questions. The kids loved it. Also, don't forget to send your camera up in the silver bucket.... so the workers can snap a photo of you. Fun afternoon and the employees... More

We were very impressed with the living farm. The people who work here were wonderful with the children. I was there with my daughter-in-law and 3 grandchildren, ages 1, 3 and 5. There were sheep, horses, oxen, geese, chickens and pigs to see. They were brought into the vegetable garden and picked carrots which they washed off and then ate.... More
