Very moving as you read all the names and a reminder that freedom is earned not given as we have always fought for it and made great sacrifices to keep it. As one that has served in Afghanistan I am reminded everyday how precious life is.

This is a simple and beautiful memorial to the victims of 9-11. It's walls frame the empty sky where the Twin Towers once stood, and it is covered with the names of the dead. It is well worth the short walk from the terminal building if you are visiting the Statue of Liberty.

A sad yet amazing place to visit. Sad because of all the lives lost that horrible day. Something everyone should experience.

First time I have seen the Empty Sky memorial. So beautiful and peaceful. The view and location is perfect. Took the time to tell my 9 year old about 911 and what this memorial represents. Really amazing.

A much humbler memorial than the one in downtown NYC. That one was ruled by so many interests...real estate, politics, sacred remains of the devestated families. Heartbreaking and awful in so many ways. Typical of New Jersey, no hype. Just the stark declaration of unfathomable loss. No more, no less. Go.

Well done and worth visiting, I thought it was a bit spendy but I still highly recommend this attraction - try to go early when the crowd level is low

This is a beautiful area it is like an outside corridor of blocks of stone with the names of the lost on 9/11. When you look down the corridor you can see where the twin towers stood and where the space is now sadly they have gone. It's a very sad memorial and people with children should try to keep... More

We stopped by and visited this site and I was impressed. What a great way to honor those. The design was very smart to reflect the missing towers.

I visited the One Observatory with my sister, the view is awesome. The tragedy that occurred there can still be sensed in the air.. there is a view of the base of the two older towers. The elevator shows the history of new York in a very graphic way. The images start when that area was used for cattle and... More

You've probably heard of the famous 9/11 memorial in NYC. This one goes almost unnoticed. It's low-key, but powerful. You're standing directly across the Hudson R from where the twin towers used to be, with the names of all the victims engraved in two parallel walls behind you, or on either side of you, depending on where you're standing. You... More
