Well worth the visit to Camden. I am travelling from Australia, this was close to the top of my list of must-do's. It did not disappoint. My tour was conducted by a wonderful, knowledgeable guide (I'm sorry his name eludes me).

We were given a grand tour even though we arrived at an off time. We learned so much great stuff about Walt and saw so many artifacts from Walt’s later life there at the house. No photos allowed inside. Be sure to feed the meters...More

The house has been carefully and respectfully restored over the years. Curators use photographs from Whitman's residency to place original contents and remodel with similar wallpaper, fixtures, and furniture. Many items are original such as paintings, some furniture, bathtubs, and his boots. His hat is...More

A very intersting historical house with a great story. Our docent Dick was very nice and gave us a great tour. Call ahead before going to make sure there are tours available and make an appointment - the tour size is limited.

Visiting the Walt Whitman House is so real it's almost surreal, because I've never been to a house museum where it felt so much like the person had just stepped out for a quick errand and might be back momentarily. Whitman's furniture, papers and artifacts...More

Give about an hour~ depends on how many questions you have! Leo gave me a very leisurely tour of a little over an hour. You could find that distance on google maps. Have fun!
