Please remove this from your site since it has closed permanently. It no longer exists. It was a really lovely community theater that could no longer pay its bills. A real loss for Long Beach Island.

Very sad that the theater closed it's doors. Had tremendous shows, talented actors - and a great ice cream shop next door that was affiliated with the theater. Why hasn't the Borough of Beach Haven, or a non-profit group stepped up and purchase the building and continue the long-time tradition of entertainment?

Unfortunately this beloved attraction is no longer available to us. It was closed and sold at auction due to bankruptcy in 2015. I will be miss by youn and old who have vacationed and live on the island and have enjoyed the fantastic shows that have been presented there.

The Surflight had been a staple of LBI for many years and had presented some memorable shows. Apparently, the artistic value wasn't enough to keep it going without being able to pay the bills. Alternative venues were tried for the past few years, but it wasn't enough to keep the doors open. Don't plan on bringing the kids to the... More

I loved the Surflight Theatre growing up. I am now 60 years old and I have fond memories of going to the matinee children's shows and then to the adult ones at night. I remember Joe Hayes always saying "as the lights slowly dim"-- and then of course, they would go right off-- and then the show would begin. A... More

So very sorry to see this wonderful theater close its doors for good. Hoping someone will buy it and keep it going but this doesn't look good!

I wonder who bought it??? I am not sure but i heard they can not take buildings down. It would be great if it was turned into a quaint little shopping village and keeping the theater the way it was.

Better take this off your listings, the theater went out of business and so did their ice cream parlor with the singing waiters. Big loss for the tourists.

I have seen many shows at the theater including musicals and concerts. I have never been disappointed. The theater is small and the view of the stage is great no matter where you sit. The talent is top notch and I always leave having totally enjoying the performance.
