This forest was beautiful, and the story of Madame Antoinette Sherri and her beautiful Castle were amazing. When we were there, a young man was sitting on the grand staircase steps playing guitar and singing... we were entranced!!! The gentle sound of his music was so pretty, and perfect for the venue. We really enjoyed the stone ruins, and Indian... More

Ruins were interesting. Got some good photos. A little hard to find gps stopped working but found it, well worth it. Had 2 hiking trails one was 1.5 miles which was easier the other .5 miles which was more difficult, we chose the easier one nice hike. Was worth it if you have the time and like to hike I... More

Very accessible, ruins are not far from the road, for those that like a little more of a challenge there is also a nice hike. Only disappointment was the amount of glass everywhere near the structure.

Madame Sherri Forest is the place Madame Sherri chose to build her castle. Her story is very interesting and, although the castle is long gone, the remaining stone staircase is very impressive. Narrow back roads lead to the forest, but it is a very short walk into the woods to reach the stairs. Great place for photos!

What a gorgeous forest to visit in the fall! Go to Indian Pond, it is such a sight with the gorgeous red, orange and gold trees surrounding the water. It was fun to climb the ruins of Madame Sherri's castle and picture this character's life (read about it near parking). Take your time here, the area is just absolutely beautiful.

My partner and I have gone twice now and have done two separate trails, and seen the castle! It's beautiful and a very nice hike!! Challenging at times with the leaves but very fun! Our dogs love it!

Trails are nice and great place for morning walk if you are staying at riverside. It is a dirt road getting there and trails are hilly but worth it for your morning excercise.

There is off road parking and info boards to tell you Madame Sherri's story. You can picture stepping back in time and imagining how cool this place was in its day. At this point, you see the stone remnants of the house and can walk a couple of trails. It is a must see if you like a little history... More

The ruins itself aren't very impressive but are a short walk from the parking area. The nearby looping hikes are worth the walk though. There are some great scenic views.

We hiked 3 mikes in the Madame Sherrie/ann stokes trail on Sunday. Returned to our car with rock thrown through window. Several other vehicles also, broken into and damaged. Quick cash, wallets, and phones were stolen. State Police and chief of west chesterfield were called and were very helpful to,our needs. Just a fair warning. Other than that, it was a... More
