Amazing Oasis in Downtown Portsmouth

Very few cities can boast parks like Prescott. Expect big changes (on the positive side) over the next few years. Great summer concerts and shows. Amazing views as well.

This is a nice place to walk off a lunch or dinner. Well maintained gardens, paths and restrooms. Nice access to the river. Sat on a park bench and watched a lobsterman stack his traps...made me appreciate not being a lobsterman. We visited in November, the gardens must be spectacular in season.

There is always something going on at Prescott Park in the summer. It's a beautiful place to spend time with family and friends.

Lovely peaceful park that still looked amazing in October. It is small but very pretty. We came upon this while walking and it was a pleasant surprise.

We never visit Portsmouth without a stop by the gardens here. They are spectacular at certain times of the year and well worth a visit. The pictures we take are always wonderful. We love the strolls through the test gardens and learning about plants we have not seen before. They are all marked with identifying labels. The park offers views... More

Prescott Park is one of the treasures of Portsmouth. The gardens are lovely, the view of the river is excellent, it is within walking distance of the downtown and adjacent to Strawberry Banke. If you are planning to visit Portsmouth, do not pass up a trip to the gardens.

The park is beautiful - especially when the flowers are in bloom. There are great views of the Piscataqua River and the River Bridges.

Portsmouth is not a big site seeing place and more of a quaint town with some chatchkey shops tourists love. The park is apparently another highlight due to lack of others, I would not go out of your way for this.

This is just the place to take a break. Watch the ships. Watch the bridge go up and down. There was a play going on when we were there...The Little Mermaid.. It was actually quite a good performance.
