Not my favorite tour of Portsmouth homes, but our tour guide was very nice and knowledgeable. It is worth the visit, IMO.We did not get to see the gardens as there was a wedding when we were there.

The building is beautiful inside and out, but there's hardly any furniture in it -- did it get destroyed, sold off, what? It was disappointing in comparison to the other historic museum homes in Portsmouth, as well as dozens of nationwide historic homes I've visited....More

We enjoy touring old homes from all periods. This was a very interesting one, at all levels from the information about the residents and their servants to the kitchen and the gardens and the proximity to downtown.

We had a terrific docent who showed us this amazing home. She did a great job explaining the interesting history associated with this house. It is well worth the time to visit, especially if you like history and architecture!
