Portsmouth has a long history of building submarines and the Albacore is a must see. What is unique about this sub museum is that it is on dry land with easy access to the interior.

I've been by this museum 100 times. We hosted someone from Iowa who never saw the ocean so seething a Sub was really cool.

We only got to see the outside of the submarine (which looks pretty cool) because it was closed. They have somewhat limited winter hours: Thursday through Monday and they close at 4:00 pm.

Great place for a kids party. Not many times you can see the underside of a sub. Good tour. It even still smells like an active sub.
