This state park is at the end of a tree shaded lane and situated in one of NH's most picturesque towns. The park itself is mostly undeveloped with an old fort to explore but be forewarned it is falling apart so just look and don't climb on it. Aside from the park there is a pretty little beach on Little... More

Interesting place to walk around. Great views. Parking is very limited (6 spots?) Can walk from the Wentworth. Can walk out the stone jetty.

I was in Andover MA on business and not flying back to the UK until early Sunday morning, this gave me Saturday to explore a little. Boston was one option but I decided to head north to New Hampshire and up the coast, not really knowing what I was looking for I drove along the coast to Portsmouth. Just looking... More

This place is more about the setting than the site. The remains of the fort are forgettable, but the views along here are super.

Have to credit google maps for this find. Make sure you're looking for the camera icon while exploring. This site was free and open until 8pm. My husband, my daughters and I walked around and were intrigued by what remains there.

This is such an out of the way spot that its not very busy. It has a rocky beach area on one side and a sandy beach on the other. In between is Fort stark, fun for kids to explore. The bathrooms are portapotties.

Very cool site. Read up on the use of the fort before arrival to get the most out of it. The ruins make for great pictures (Instagram it). If you're not a history buff it's still a cool spot with great water views. Nice place to walk and get some exercise. There are portable bathrooms if you just need a... More

A large park with lots of buildings, most of them in accessible, fences to keep the vandals out. Idiots ruin it for the rest of us.

This was an accidental find but gave us more than we were looking for. The kids especially loved it- there are creepy areas of the buildings to trek through. Theres graffiti which they thought was very cool and contributed to the spooky atmosphere. The rooms are not lit and there are hazards inside. If you have little ones, dont let... More

We went in the off season so I am sure during the summer with tours and such it would be much more interesting. However, I really loved walking down on the beach with all the crushed shells and looking out at the 2 lighthouse.
