The Lakes Region is truly lucky to be embued with a tucked-away gem such as the Loon Center. Located in Moultonborough, it is not far from the Mill Falls hotel mini-village in Meredith nor many other local attractions. When we visited, it was more of...More

The Loon Center, while small, contains a wealth of information about loons, their life cycle, the survival challenges they face and the actions being taken to preserve and grow their population in NH. Well worth a visit! And....they have a delightful gift shop with more...More

I found The Loon Center while researching the area for a visit to Castle in the Clouds. They are just minutes away from each other. It’s definitely worth a stop! Lots of hands on activities for kids, displays, information, and a nice gift shop.

We have been visiting this store for 20 years. It gets better and better. Reminds me of my youth with adding the prices on a brown paper bag. When visiting this area make sure to stop in and spend at least an hour just looking....More

We visited the Welcome center/Museum and watched a truly excellent film about the Common Loon (Gavia immer). It was very informative, and perhaps the most interesting fact, which truly surprised mr, was that the loons fly to South America to winter in the ocean when...More
