Castle in the Clouds is in the midst of a very thoughtful and accurate renovation. It was interesting to see the craftsmanship in action that is bringing the house back to life, although it impacted front-of-the-mansion pictures. The renovations inside are limited to certain rooms,...More

The views were breathtaking. I went with my college friends of 30+years and we had a wonderful time. We even ate lunch there on the patio and there were some of the best views of all there. For a tourist location the food was pretty...More

We had an opportunity to see the Castle and views before the fog/clouds rolled in and it was amazing. The house was interesting for all its features - many which didn't even seem possible at the time it was built. It is under restoration as...More

I don't know how many folks drive up, take a tour of the buildings and then leave, but they leave without experiencing the best part, which is the trails. The stream side trail is wonderful, and the shade and water a lovely respit on a...More

We spent a day there. The mountain views and Architecture are breathtaking. If you are planning to eat lunch out doors, get there early. It gets crowded. The guides are very helpful and knowledgeable.

This was a great day trip on a sunny afternoon. We arrived at 11:00 am and took the trolley from the carriage house up to the mansion. Each tour begins with a ten minute orientation, and then you are free to walk around the house...More

No, unfortunately! The town has many hotels and B&B's. If you don't mind a little drive you can stay at one of the resorts by the lake.
