Had to wait quite a while but the atmosphere was nice and food was good. It's in the old stables so very unique. Didn't visit the castle but views from the back porch of the restaurant were very picturesque. The history in the carriage house...More

Beautiful innovative home built in the 1900's on the top of a mountain overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee. Beautiful view. Windey drive up seeing waterfalls. Interesting history to the home and residents. Spent several hours here and then ate at the restaurant on the grounds which was...More

Despite not being able to experience the views of the area or Lake Winnipesaukee due to the rain and heavy cloud cover on the day we visited, this was a highlight of our trip through the NE. The residence is currently undergoing renovation. This offers...More

This is really worth a visit. Never heard of it before the hotel owner mentioned it. Well laid out and kept, with enthusiastic guides giving good explanations. Sad that a self made man, who retired and sold up and married a younger woman, built the...More

We might have passed this by in better weather, which would have been our loss. The story behind how this small mansion came to be built, lived in, lost and recovered as a local treasure was very interesting and it is always lovely to see...More

A great take, some interesting local history, and excellent lunch. The Castle tour is self guided, so .you can take as much or as little time exploring as you want. The "Basement Tour" is new, is guided, and was fascinating. To see how the infrastructure...More

No, unfortunately! The town has many hotels and B&B's. If you don't mind a little drive you can stay at one of the resorts by the lake.
