I had never heard of this place until we went there while on a tour of New England. Mr Plant, the original owner was certainly a forward thinker. The house is amazing considering when it was built. The views are breathtaking. The landscaping around the...More

Visited with friends from the area. What views, trails, and tons O' happy people. Sad story about the castle owner. But what a wonderful place to spend an entire day.

We went up last weekend the foliage was great. I have toured the mansion around 4 times and each time I go, they have remolded a room, or added more history to the tour. The day was great, plenty of sun could see for miles

Decided to go at the spur of the moment and was not disappointed. Views are incredible and the layout is very easy to navigate. People are knowledgeable and friendly. The estate is period correct and very interesting. Worth the trip.

No, unfortunately! The town has many hotels and B&B's. If you don't mind a little drive you can stay at one of the resorts by the lake.
