Strange place.

Very large model train hobby shop, but the emphasis on European models left it somewhat useless for me. The model train museum was also strange. 10 operating layouts, push the... read more

The gentleman inside the train museum was very nice. They have so many trains set up inside and you can press a button and actually watch the trains go around. Very cool to see what they had. 6$ a person was a little high of a price that is the only complaint.

Very large model train hobby shop, but the emphasis on European models left it somewhat useless for me. The model train museum was also strange. 10 operating layouts, push the button and a train will run for a minute or two, but in many cases at warp 10 speeds. Many many display cases of model and toy trains, some of... More

We stopped off partly because we were a bit early to go to Storyland, and it was raining. But my dad is a big model railway fan and he was impressed. He spent a while chatting to the owner, who has lived all over the world and collected different model trains. My kids just enjoyed finding and pressing the buttons... More

This is definitely an older attraction and the owner is trying to find someone to purchase the business so the displays reflect that. There is a ton in this place and he has been collecting for a long time! The displays are really intricate and large but as someone else mentioned, they aren't "fully functioning" sets which is a bit... More

We spent a great morning at the museum. Our grandson enjoyed the interactive trains, especially Thomas! The staff were very friendly and answered all our questions. Only complaint was that there were no Canadian trains!

My daughter and I have been to the museum a few times and we always enjoy it. It is a nice activity that can entertain us for about an hour/hour and a half. As many others have stated below, the train ride is unfortunately not part of the admission and buying random toys to pay for the train is not... More

After reading the reviews we were tentative about visiting... But my husband is a train guy so we decided to try it. We did tell our boys 12 & 14 that this was a museum which they know means hands off everything. The owner couldn't have been nicer and was very informative. The displays were interesting and there is a... More

No real interpretive exhibits. Just hundred of toy trains on display. Operating layouts seem tired and dusty. No prototypical trains running. Huge layouts often had trains with just engine or locos pulling one or two cars.

Great fun looking at the amazingly elaborate toy train set up! The gentlemen are very dedicated to their Model Railroad and very informative.

My six-year old boys have a Polar Express model train, so on a lark, we decided to go to the Hartmann Museum. We were not expecting much, but were very pleasantly surprised. The museum itself is packed and requires some time to go through everything. Yogi, the owner, was friendly and informative. The boys would let out a hoot at... More
