This classic "grass strip" attracts general aviation enthusiasts, antique airplane buffs and anyone who enjoys watching planes. With just 2000 feet of turf runway and a pilots' lounge that's a throwback to the good old days, You'll see plenty of interesting planes and the people who fly them! Daring visitors can take a "thrill ride" in an historic 1930 New Standard open-air biplane and fly over the nearby beaches Hampton Airfield has had continuous Piper Cub training since 1946. The only negative about this restaurant ( cafe) is its obscured entrance. If you aren't keenly observant, you could miss it! It's right off Rye 1 in North Hampton, and there is a moderately large sign with an arrow directing you to the "Airport Cafe"....More

Hidden away from the main road but nonetheless crowded with locals who enjoy really good food an excellent service. The aviation decorations add to atmosphere.

They have an awesome breakfast, great wait staff, more food than you can imagine. Can get most anything you could ever want for breakfast. Also can watch the airplanes take off and fly in. During the warm months, outside seating too.

Nice little place for breakfast. They do serve some lunch items which are also good. They make a great rueben. You can watch the small planes takeoff or land while eating. They have outside seating when the weather permits. Can be quite bury at times....More

The Airfield Cafe is a great little rest stop from typical box-store food funnels. Relaxing, off the beaten path, friendly staff, nice menu and reasonable prices. A throwback to the 'family diner' with a small airport attached for pilots looking for a friendly "$100 Hamburger"...More

the breakfast there is good. You get a good amount for the price. The service was good and very friendly. It was busy so you may have to wait.

We went just because it looked kitchy and fun -- I was not expecting the food to be so good. The hash browns are some of the best I've ever had -- great seasoning and not greasy. The pulled-pork omelet I had was tasty and...More

Hampton Airfield is a site you can go to for free. They have the cafe and that is where we go to enjoy the breakfast/lunch plus get to see the planes take off or land.
