This classic "grass strip" attracts general aviation enthusiasts, antique airplane buffs and anyone who enjoys watching planes. With just 2000 feet of turf runway and a pilots' lounge that's a throwback to the good old days, You'll see plenty of interesting planes and the people who fly them! Daring visitors can take a "thrill ride" in an historic 1930 New Standard open-air biplane and fly over the nearby beaches Hampton Airfield has had continuous Piper Cub training since 1946. The Airfield Cafe is a great little rest stop from typical box-store food funnels. Relaxing, off the beaten path, friendly staff, nice menu and reasonable prices. A throwback to the 'family diner' with a small airport attached for pilots looking for a friendly "$100 Hamburger"...More

the breakfast there is good. You get a good amount for the price. The service was good and very friendly. It was busy so you may have to wait.

Great breakfast. Be prepared for a wait if it's on the weekend. Gets very crowded. I felt it was worth the wait, the food was plentiful and was cooked excellent. The plus, in nice weather you get to watch the small planes take off.

Hampton Airfield is a site you can go to for free. They have the cafe and that is where we go to enjoy the breakfast/lunch plus get to see the planes take off or land.
