Franconia Notch, NH is a location not to be missed. The highway itself lends to great views of high mountains on either side. The flume and the basin are especially stops you would want to make. Additionally, the Cannon Mountain ski area and tram offer...More

We visited the Flume and Basin in April while the ground was still covered in snow. It was truly beautiful and only a few folks were there. The paths are easy to follow and there are lots of photo ops, but caution is necessary walking...More

I've been here countless time since the 1960's. From then until the early 1980's, we came here virtually every summer, and almost every summer more recently. The two best times to visit are Summer, say around Late July or August, and of course, during the...More

Franconia Notch State park is an amazing place to visit with so many different subparks to enjoy. Try camping at Lafayette Place campground and the basin. Hike up to Lonesome Lake or Cannon Mountain. Or go for a ride on the Cannon tram.

One of my favorite places I've camped. The rangers were friendly and knowledgeable. The park is located close to the highway, yet not obtrusively so. Many major hiking trails go through the park. Great place to camp to see local attractions, and not far from...More
