But it's under the Old Man of the Mountain site and near profile plaza. That's high on many people's lists, and this is sort of included.

Medium hike from our campground Lafayette place, we chose to walk the bike trail, about 2 miles, there is also a walking trail that is a little shorter distance and it is not heavily traveled. It is a little overgrown and narrow with roots and rocks. If you are lucky and go early enough, you might just see a Moose.... More

Fished there last week. Great fly fishing. Brook trout are in abundance. Although I did not kayak, those who were had a great time. Excellent parking and a very good boat launch. It has a nice sandy area for sitting and just relaxing. The shore line next to the boat launch is easy for wading and fishing. This lake is... More

There is a very nice Old Man in the Mountain Historic Site with benches, information, gift shop, mini museum and clever viewing area designed to give you the experience of 'seeing' the old man. The pathway leads to Profile Lake which is between two mountains and is exquisite to view. If you are a fly fisherman you are in luck.... More

This lake is so nice to row a boat or swim in or to just bask on the beach and look at the mountain views. It looks like it's part of a fjord, almost. It's easy to get to, right off the main drag going through Franconia Notch.

An interesting place where you have a chance to see what The Old Man of the Mountain looked like before it fell.

Profile Lake is a peaceful, pretty stop and definitely worth checking out, but in bad weather you might want to skip it, because it's a 5 min walk from the parking lot. Follow the signs for the Old Man in the Mtn Historic Site. The old man profile "viewers" are at Profile Lake also. Nice spot for a picnic.

Located at the bottom of the mountain that looks up to the Old Man in the Mountain, Sad to see it gone but wonderful to see the tribute the National Park has done to show visitors how it looked once upon a time.

We took several evening walks along Profile Lake. It was relaxing, and we enjoyed watching the fly fishermen. We were hoping to see a moose but it didn't work out.

Great recreation of the Old Man in the Mountains. A great loss to NH but this new view is excellent. Kids enjoyed it too.
