For an outing on a humid summer's day on the NH seacoast and not at the crowded beaches I suggest the Phillips Exeter Academy walking trails. Clearly marked and maintained beautifully, they (there are more than one) are a sun dappled and quiet retreat from...More

Great trails to clear you mind by walking or riding a bike. A great place to go solo or with friends.

Phillips Exeter Academy created and maintains a great number of trails in the woods behind the athletic fields. The trails are clearly marked. Great for running, walking, and cross-country skiing.

Very nice in town loop trail around the lake. Winds through and around the Philips Exeter Campus. Light rain during the walk did NOT detract from the beauty. A small gem in a lovely NH town.

Trails are well-used, but still beautiful. Doggie stations are at strategic points so that you can take pets. I find them enjoyable in any season - good in particular for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. doggie
