If you enjoy flat-water paddling, birdwatching, paddling, and the great outdoors, this is the place to be. You may launch at the Refuge Headquarters/Visitor’s Center. Parking is available on both sides of U.S. 16. Bathrooms are available at the Visitor’s Center when it is open....More

Excellent kayaking waters, bald eagle sightings, nice quiet area with plenty of fresh air. Follow dam road into Maine and stop in ( for dinner ) @ the Trading Post restaurant.

We drove up route 16 located across from 150 Main Street and saw moose along the road side. We also saw a porcupine! It beautiful ride and exciting to see all that wildlife.

Bald Eagles, Osprey, Great Blue Heron, Kingfishers, Grebes, Loons, Wrens, Brown Thrushes, Warblers, Jays, Woodpeckers, Chickadees, Nighthatches, Cedar Waxwings.

This is a great place to look for Moose! The drive from Berlin, NH is beautiful. Stop by the headquarters which is on 16 North past Erroll for great wildlife watching tips!

Pack up you're kayak. Kayak 2 hours to Lake Umbagog, with bald eagle sightings, moose, ect .Have awareness to signs posted. Calm days are best for the trip. enjoy

The total length of the 3 trails is 1.3 miles. The handicapped access trail is not so interesting since it is pretty wide and it does not look very natural. The other longer trails go through a lush forest of conifers and broad leaf trees....More
