We enjoyed a relaxing boat trip booked with our hotel as a package with YS Falls. The guide was nice and shared his knowledge about the crocodiles and nature conservation, and we met Margaret the sexy crocodile lady and the handsome Terrorist boy which were laying under the sun on the pier. All the congratulations for this people for the... More

We weren't expecting much from this tour but were very pleasantly surprised. Less than a minute in before we saw a baby crocodile followed about a minute after by an absolute beast on the land alongside the river. The crocodiles kept coming we saw probably around 7 or 8 coming right up alongside the boat. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable... More

The tour began with some friendly safety tips from our captain. Immediately we saw several kinds of egrets, and an 8 ft crocodile on the river bank. The captain was very knowledgeable and respectful of the environment. The boat was comfortable for the hour long tour, but pee first and bring a drink and wear sunscreen. This tour would still... There was three of us, one a 12 yr old, and we paid $20US to get in on the St. Elizabeth charter (note there are two different ones on either side of the river, we went on the north side of it). The guide was amazing and was very knowledgeable of the flora and fauna on the river. We seen... More

There are several companies offering the cruise trip, some are part of a package offered by tour companies and include YS Falls and (usually) Appletons, although the latter was not available during our visit because of refurbishment of the visitor centre. Determined to see the crocs and beautiful scenery, we arranged a private trip to J Charles Swaby's trip, and... More

It was part of an organised trip also including the YS falls. and it is a long and bumpy journey from Montego Bay and I would suggest that if you are planning it as a 'one off' from a North shore resort then think twice before doing it. It was ok, a very pleasant way to wile away an hour... More

The boat ride is very nice and relaxing. The scenery is wonderful. We saw many crocodiles swimming around and they came right up to the boat (sometimes a little too close for my comfort) but it was very cool. We also saw a local in the water (about 20 ft from the crocs) spear fishing! Crazy but cool!

I have been Jamaica many times and never knew about black river cruise. It was a lovely experience and the staff where amazing with lots of knowledge and very funny too. We didn't see many on the boat tour but happened to see the biggest one on arrival back which was great. I would 100% visit again

We did this tour July 2016, Nothing much to write about. Sat on pontoon and went along the river. Saw mangroves and a few crocs.

The boat ride was really nice. The most awesome part of the trip was our guide who put a piece of bait in his mouth and got a croc to come up to the boat, and eat it out of his mouth! He was even giving the croc kisses on the head. At the time we were there, George was... More
