This late 1800's saloon is certainly a stop in your trip to Virginia city. We went twice. Had a few drinks. Just relaxed. This is also the entry to the mine tour. Very cool

Visit to Virginia City is incomplete without going to the mine tour. The tour guides are informative and funny. This is the only mine tour that is open during winter season. The drinks are reasonably priced and the service is friendly.

When you find yourself in Virginia City take your time and visit the ponderosa saloon. Be sure to see the mine in back for an extra few bucks. Its worth the time for the experience.

I see many complaints, but how often are you going to be able to visit a mineshaft with a tour in the back of a bar? A little piece of history, interesting as how this town became to be, and why complain about the cost...More
