    Wonderful family day!
We wanted a fun experience for extended family and this was the perfect choice for all ages! There was something for the littlest children, the teens, and the adults as well. It was uncrowded, and easy to get around. It was such a pleasure to be outside, but there are plenty of air conditioned indoor exhibits as well. The staff was very helpful and great with the kids. Highly recommended for families and anyone who enjoys history and nature.

Explosive butterfly exhibit and stunning trails and flowers throughout
My main objective today was to take pictures of the butterflies on this stunning 80 degree day. The exhibit was extremely busy but WELL worth the wait time in a small line. I come here a few times each year and on today's visit there were more butterflies and species than I've ever seen. The staff were perfect. Keeping a watchful eye to make certain everyone obeyed rules and enjoyed themselves. It's hard to imagine such a clean, beautiful exhibit in the heart of the city. I took loads of pictures and on the way to the exit who can resist those stunning flowers throughout the property. Colorful. Amazing. Just adds up to a positive experience.

    Best part of Las Vegas!
Fantastic urban garden/ desert scape. We living visiting gardens when we travel and this was a great one. Well laid out desert plants and displays across the grounds. The vegetable / herb garden area is fantastic for gardening nerds like me. Very cool and the head gardener is awesome. Fun to talk to and hear about the different plants. Butterfly enclosure is remarkable. Enjoyed the Liberace exhibit inside the museum. Even the waterworks piece was very cool. Get away from the strip and visit this gem.

    Interesting
It seemed like a cool place, but I wish I'd gone on a day when it wasn't full of field trippers. The throngs of kids put a damper on enjoying the day. I would visit again if there was a way to know that it wouldn't be overrun with kids.

    Great visit
This is a great place to visit to get away from the Strip and relax for a while. Buying tickets online makes for a quicker entry, but it's never too crowded. If you have a car, there is a large free parking lot. We visited the botanical gardens as well as the Origen Museum, which was fantastic. Well worth a visit for all ages!

Wonderful gardens, education centres and space to roam
Amazing place to visit with kids or any age. Well marked walking trails with interesting exhibits. Short train ride to historic town with exhibits. Also visited water tower and state museum. Could easily spend more time here at cafe and other museum. Save yourself some money if you are a family and buy a membership. Free parking and easy Uber ride 20 mins from strip.

    Loved it!
I don’t know why this isn’t listed as a top activity in Las Vegas. It is very well run, the staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and all seem to really enjoy being there. The grounds are absolutely beautiful. I learned so much while having a great time. Fabulous for kids as they learn through fun activities as well. If you are a local I definitely recommend the memberships as they are very reasonable. I recommend a hat and sunscreen.

    Great for families!
This place is amazing! We went twice in one week, once with just my toddler (my oldest son was sick) and once with both kids. They both loved everything, but especially the dinosaurs. The seasonal splash pad was a lifesaver for the June heat, and the hands-on exhibits inside the OriGEN museum were educational and fun. The botanical garden was beautiful. I wish we had had time for the Nevada State Museum, but it’s definitely on my list of things to do the next time I’m in Las Vegas! I highly recommend for families.

There is a small, independent admission charge for the new display. Well worth the additional few bucks is this. It was really warm today. Now, there are just two species on display. As soon as the temperature cools down, more will be added. Nevertheless, while my two hours there, around 700 butterflies amused the tiny number of guests! TWO HOURS? Well, I had fun while watching and taking pictures from the ground. I doubt I would have liked it nearly as much if I had gone there on the weekend or on a holiday. In a few weeks, when they add additional species, I'll return. A pleasant

We were looking for something outside that was also informative. Springs Preserve offers a botanical garden full of desert plants. We also took the Discovery tour and gained insight into the history of Las Vegas as well as the effect water has had on the location. We ate lunch at the Divine Cafe, where you can eat outside and have a view of downtown.

I thought that this was a very nice experience. I will admit, it was a little confusing sometimes to follow the map to get where I wanted to go. However, I really enjoyed the exhibits and it was really nice that it was not a crowded day so I got a chance to really see everything I wanted. I could see where this could be very popular with families, young adults, and older adults. With all of the positives, you might be wondering, why only 4 stars? I'll tell you...There were several things that were not open the day I visited (Butterfly exhibit and train ride come to mind) but there was no notice of that on the map. So in essence, I had to walk to the other side of the park area to learn that the Butterfly exhibit was not open in the summer and that the train wasn't operating due to hot weather (although the person at the ticket counter specifically mentioned going on the train ride). So other than those things, I think this is a very worthwhile and educational opportunity for people to enjoy!

The Springs Preserve was closed during COVID :( I believe it's open again but I was able to enjoy it before the shutdown. There's so many desert plants to see! And a plant sale twice a year - once in the Spring and again in the Fall. Their hours are odd - so make sure you check ahead of time before you decide to go or they'll be closed (by 3pm in the afternoon?!?!). There's a small Cafe where you can get something to eat and a giftshop. What do I like most? That it's a Garden of Eden in the middle of Las Vegas. It's a wonderful place for a stroll on well-maintained walking paths and they have FREE Parking. The cost for a membership is rather affordable ($30 per person/$60 for a family). It's a great way to get outdoors without a lot of hassle.

This is such a great day out, encountering live butterflies in their natural habitat, seeing the live lizards, scorpions, tortoises, snakes and other wildlife. One of the most interesting bits was the guided tour of the teaching garden with Charles, a very friendly, knowledgeable gardener who let us taste the loquats and herbs and showed us the chipmunk who nibbles his crops when he’s not looking! We had a delicious lunch in the Divine Cafe, explored the museum with its ancient indigenous buildings and pottery, experienced a flash flood in the canyon ( not for real, but still quite scary) and a railroad ride through history. To round off our four hour visit, we bought some delightful, affordable souvenirs in the shop. Highly recommended!

Springs Preserve was a welcome change from the Vegas glitz. Only a short Uber ride from the Strip, it seemed worlds away. We’d reserved tickets online, which allowed entry to the two museums on site and all the exhibits, grounds and trails. We were among the few visitors aside from a few school groups, and had most of the gardens and exhibits to ourselves. Learned a fair amount about the history, wildlife, terrain, climate and spirit of this lovely area in the course of several hours. Didn’t have time to explore the trails that lead into the surrounding hills this trip, but hope to return!

Awesome place! I went midweek and it wasn't busy, I loved how peaceful the outdoor areas were. This place has something for everyone. Dinosaur bones, mining exhibits, Vegas bling, who lived there originally, aerospace section, outdoor exhibits, water treatment plant and desert. The Cafe was great too.
I rode the bus from Denny's diner for $6 day ticket.

What a cool place. A good friend gave us a guided tour and thank goodness, because you could get lost in there! Once inside it is like a maze, with no signs informing you either where you are, or how to get somewhere else.

The highlights for us were Boomtown (Las Vegas in the 1920s) to the Del Solar house (won 2nd place in an international competition for sustainable living) and the butterfly exhibit. Would NEVER have found the Del Solar house without help. There were random signs with a butterfly on them, but no arrows or directions. The Boomtown area is so cool with original homes, saloon, mercantile, bank and train station. Again, very little signage, and while some printed info is available, having our own personal guide made it SO much more interesting.

This was a little bit of a let down and seemed like it was geared more towards locals. They don't give you a map so your kind of just left to wander aimlessly. There were very few animals there and the museum exhibits were kind of sparse. We took the little train hoping that maybe it went out through the property and we might see some animals there but it just went to a little false-front "railroad town".

I had a long amount of time to kill between checking out of my hotel and my flight home. I was looking for something outdoors, but not far away. This was perfect. You could spend a little time exploring a museum or walking a trail. Or you could pass hours exploring all the preserve has to offer. It’s a great contrast to the Strip and the usual Vegas tourist attractions. Plus, you’ll learn something about the history, flora and fauna.
