I visited the museum after spending the morning at the Springs Preserve as they share a parking lot, it was convenient. I was pleased with the historical journey represented, from fossils, through mans' migration and populating the desert, to modern Vegas and the glitz and...More

Not a great museum, but some different displays for education purposes. Not La Brea Tar Pits, or some of the famous displays around the US, but for kids, a nice change of pace.

The Nevada State Museum is located within the confines of the Springs Preserve. So is its 'sister' museum, the Origen. Both are worthy of their own separate visits, altho neither in and of itself takes that long to go completely thru. I really like the...More

A rare Ichthyosaurs fossil collection right here in Nevada. Easily accessible while at the Springs Preserve.

Nice presentation of displays but some sections did not seem to glow well, a little confusing. Enjoyed the experience.

This is a nice museum, with modern exhibits, movies and actual historical items well arranged. It addresses the flora and fauna of Nevada, its history and prehistory and has interesting special exhibits. Also located in a terrific development of the Springs Preserve.

If you're looking for a way to avoid spending time in the casinos, this museum and nature trails complex is terrific. About a 15 minute drive from the strip and well worth it. Great exhibits, friendly staff.

Together with the nearby Las Vegas Museum they represent a very interesting history both prehistoric and recent of the city and the state. They are both well done with easy to read narratives and dioramas. The prehistoric animals will be enjoyable for young children as...More
