The issue is the price vs time is bad. It’s $29 a person. And took my kids and I about 20 minutes.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 4 November 2023
- lengel2018Kittredge, Colorado67 contributionsExcellent Value - Especially for Las VegasOur only complaint was that we wished there was more and the length of the walk to get to it! Loved the exhibits, especially the jellyfish, lionfish and sharks! The staff was wonderful; free wheelchairs are available for those with mobility issues (like me); and the price was beyond reasonable by Las Vegas standards. It is a long walk to get to, but at least there are benches and other seating available along the way.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 11 November 2023
- 01DayTripper71 contributionsWorth the price of admission. The Aquarium was well kept and clean. For the admission price (Adults $30), there was a good variety of exhibits. Reptiles, fish, rays, jellyfish and sharks. It is located in the back of Mandalay Bay convention center and requires a long walk from the front.Visited February 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 2 February 2024
- QuigglesHavre, Montana14 contributionsVisit the ocean floor...I have a kid who is obsessed with sharks, so we had to go. There were 2 tunnels - everything swims around you - that was pretty neat. There is a place where you can touch some little rays. There is an employee there to answer questions and direct the contact. They give the rays a "no touch" break every so often. While they are on their break, you can wander around an look at the jellyfish or octopus. There is a big observation type room with glass in the ceiling and floor. There were walls of glass - so you're basically on the ocean floor watching. Our only "complaint" would be that we wish it was bigger. It was August, so it was still hot and a little muggy in there, but absolutely would recommend!Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 24 August 2024

As part of the 3/57$ deal, we elected to see the shark reef. It is a very nice set and had two areas where the sea life swim over you in a semi-lunar tank. Despite this, it was crowded with people and difficult to enjoy. It needs to be more timed entry so it’s not clumps if people. Unless you plan to spend hour there waiting to see each sign, you end up jumping over crowds and it’s very fast and not overly enjoyable. If my children were there, they would have had little time to enjoy the tanks and find
Creatures before the next crowd pushed them along.

We took our toddler to see the sharks. There are plenty of other animals there, as well. It was a bit crowded once we got to the tunnel with the sharks. Getting reservations was a little tricky, since they only let you reserve online for the VR experience and those who wanted to just walk through had to wait in line and see if there was room for additional viewers. The restrooms were quite a ways through the aquarium and recommend using the restroom before entering, unless you plan on backtracking to view some of the animals again.

I had heard really good things about this aquarium so we decided to check it out. It’s a really nice aquarium. They even had my favorite animal, a Komodo dragon, which I was super excited about. I loved all the tunnels and the overall atmosphere. Really beautiful. My only negatives really: 1) there are a LOT of kids (obviously). I kinda expected this, as this is one of the only real kid focused places on the strip, but it was still a little annoying dodging huge strollers and moms not paying attention. If you visit as an adult just be aware of that since the space is smaller than your average aquarium. Also the lady at the front was very rude. We bought a combo ticket with the VR package (tickets not labeled) and she acted as if there was no way to tell what tickets she was scanning and gave us a lot of attitude about it. Extremely rude. Uncalled for really. Besides that it’s really cute and beautiful and takes probably 30-45 mins for your average adult depending on  how much time you spend at each exhibit. It’s a cool aquarium and I’d recommend checking it out.Â

Second visit and a great change to the usual Vegas attractions. The shark area was fascinating and great to just sit and watch. We went mid week so quiet time - may be harder to see at a weekend. The Mandalay is at the of the strip, but worth the walk.

$20 is an awful lot to look at sharks and pet the sting rays. There are so many people you need to move when they move and if you try to take pictures good luck getting any. Not worth the money.

Lots of great displays and information. We really enjoyed our time. Great variety of animals for a smaller exhibit. We have a 10 year old boy and only spent about 45 minutes total. So $85 for that amount of time seems pricey compared to our local aquarium where we can spend hours for a similar price.

An aquarium in a casino resort is kinda what you get, though the price you pay is equivalent to a normal aquarium. It’s quite small with limited displays and no real wow factor with the sharks. Have seen much better shark aquariums all around the world.
Not worth the entrance fee.

Wanting to step away from the Las Vegas madness for the morning we decided to visit the shark reef.
It was nicely done and informative too. My only criticism is for the price we paid it was too small and can realistically be done in 10-15 mins!! A bit disappointed as thought it would be bigger and more to see.

This aquarium was pretty decent and fun. It's at the end of the strip so it took forever to get there and was a relatively short attraction. It's a good activity if you are traveling with kids.....they will definitely enjoy it. The admission price is a little pricey and it was timed entry when we went so definitely buy in advance.

What a wonderful experience! My 17-year old granddaughter chose this activity. We were pleased that it started right on time and was so well organized. I was a little disappointed that the portions where the glass was overhead and the fish and sharks swam above us was dimly lit. The brochures we saw led us to believe that the water was bright blue and filled with sunlight. This entire feature was indoors and the dimness made the water seem less than clean. We did the virtual tour at the end and it was great!!! So worth the extra $9. Also, the staff was very friendly, helpful and patient. Also, the facility is clean and wide open.

Can someone who is not paying to feed the turtles see someone in their group feed the turtles or is it all behind the scenes.

If we are staying at Mandalay bay do we get into shark reef for free

I don't think so. Go on trip advisor and look for multi event discounts. We did titanic at the luxor, shark reef and the high roller for $19 per person.
