Drive real earth-moving machines at Dig This® Book your choice of any of our machines: our Caterpillar D5K Track-Type Bulldozer, Caterpillar 3I5CL Hydraulic Excavator, Skid Steer, or Mini Excavator. When taking the controls of our massive machines, we want to make sure that you are safe at all times. After you pass the breathalyzer test, you get fitted for your super-cool neon yellow vest and hardhat! (Beware! Your Dig is non-refundable if you fail the breathalyzer test). Our instructors walk you through every lever, button, and thing-a-majig that you need to know to maneuver our machines with the grace of a ballerina. After just a short time of in-cab training, you'll be Operating like a Pro! Come dressed for the outside conditions and please wear hard soled and closed toed shoes.

- nikkialan2018Phoenix, Arizona76 contributionsAll these years and never did thisMy daughter and her husband came this past summer and suggested we go. It was fun to run the equipment. I would have enjoyed smashing a car but the prices are a little high. I liked moving the tires . The dirt was okay for a little while but got boring. Definitely think it is probably a great experience for kids and young adults . Our guide Phil was great and well we did not fall over so A+ in my bookVisited October 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 1 October 2023

- Francisco C13 contributionsGreat fun for groups, couples or families! Recommend it 100%Amazingly fun! Very good value for money. Our whole experience was coordinated amazingly fun and safe by Brian. It’s great for couples as you do things simultaneously and you can keep in touch with each other and the instructor through the headset provided. I recommend it 100%! We learned to operate a 6 ton machine to dig holes, move dirt around, and even play dig basketball at the end. Again, lots of fun and very safe. Only thing to plan ahead is transportation, Uber or Lyft can be 30-50 usd each way so take that into account, it may be better to rent a car for the day.Hello Francisco, we are very grateful for this awesome review. If you plan on visiting again, make sure to look into our internal shuttle services we offer here at dig this, as it may make your experience easier and smoother the next time. - HughDublin, California17 contributionsGrand fun!For my birthday, my wife gave me this experience. We arrived early, and had to wait for another group to finish - a woman’s 75 birthday event with her extended family. They also have a kids area (smaller machines), so something for everyone. I did the excavator and bulldozer combination. Started with the excavator, dug a hole, moved a pile of tires (twice, as I had the time), and picked up basketballs and dunked them into a tire. It’s amazing how precise these huge machines can be! All of this under the watchful eye of instructor Marc, interspersed with his jokes. Then on to the bulldozer: create a ditch to build a hill, then perch on top of the hill before driving over and down (you brace yourself with a foot rest on the “dashboard” when going down a steep hill). Both machines are powerful, but easily controlled. Grand fun. Thank you Marc & Dig This!We are so happy that you had a great experience here at Dig This for your birthday! We hope to see you again very soon. -Ashley (Front Desk)Written 14 November 2023This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited November 2023Travelled with familyWritten 7 November 2023
- SmartKd34 contributionsHighlight Of My Vegas TripFantastic experience!! I did the backhoe loader experience. It’s cool as get to use both the front and back (bucket and loader). I was a little nervous- thought I might have trouble with the controls, etc. My instructor was AWESOME. Walked me through live step by step. You drive, dig, backfill, level, and then move and stack 1200 pound tires. I gained confidence so quickly. Felt like the hour went by in 15 minutes. So much fun. If you’ve ever thought it mike be fun to try - JUST DO IT! I honestly forgot all of my work and life stress. It simply was a BLAST!!We are glad you loved your instructor and were able to build confidence so quickly with the machine. We are honored to be the highlight of your Vegas trip! I cane and did the 90 minute excavator. The business was clean, the staff practiced social distancing and wore masks. Everyone was friendly and helpful, from booking to instruction. Special shout-out to Riccardo, who kept the instruction focused, yet light and entertaining. I would come back.

We did the kids dig for my 5 year old. Each session is 15 minutes so I actually booked 2 sessions. I sent a message on their chat asking to combine my sessions (online it assumes you are booking for 2 children). They were very responsive and someone called me back right away and combined my two sessions. We actually arrived about an hour early (weren't sure how long it would take) and they were even able to accommodate us and allow us to start early. It was really fun and my son loved it! I highly recommend this activity.

We took my son here for his 3rd birthday as he LOVES construction. He was stoked he got to operate his own mini excavator, even named Rubble. (If you know, you know) I cannot say enough good things. Taylor aka Tiny, was super friendly and a great instructor. There was one other child so plenty of social distancing and everything was disinfected. If you or your kid love construction, go! It's so worth it. We will definitely visit again.

My 14 year old got to drive the bulldozer. He said it was so fun and exhilarating — and a leap of faith— driving that huge and powerful machine and going straight up and straight down when you can’t really see what you’re doing but have to trust the process. As a driver, he would definitely recommend it to others, and as a fan I will tell you it was very exciting to watch.

We were at the facility at the end of February because I bought the experience as a gift for my Fiancé. He has always wanted to drive heavy equipment so this was perfect for him. The staff was so friendly. The facility is BIG with plenty of parking. The waiting area was comfy with toys for the kids and march you could buy to mark the occasion. We went for the Big Excavator Experience and it did NOT disappoint. The instructor Timothy or Thomas (I cant remember, I'm so sorry!!) was professional, fun and engaging even with us spectators. He had on a cast in a sling poor guy but he had the best personality. The experience was 90mintues. You watch a safety video, take a breathalyzer, put on your safety vest and head set and you're good to go. Once inside the equipment the instructor gives very detailed safety and operation instructions and the spectators get to sit outside in a shaded outdoor area cordoned off just for us. We also get to wear headsets so we can hear everything that's going on. I was able to take lots and lots of photos and videos and I was able to interact with my fiancé while he was doing his thing. Once thats all done (and believe me it goes by FAST) you get a certificate and a chance to buy a photo plaque that is really great quality, or you can just buy the photos. We loved the experience and we will definitely be back!!! Also important to note there's experiences for kids too

I took a group of 5 friends from LA here the other day on a whim, and it is like every kid's dream. The instructors are super positive, friendly and make you feel very safe but also encourage you to make the most of the experience and have fun playing with the equipment. The feeling of moving huge amounts of earth with the excavator and bulldozer, doing digger push ups, and smashing apart a car was like nothing else. I'll almost certainly be back, this might be the most fun thing ever,

My wife has trouble walking due to multiple surgeries but the staff at Dig This set up a shallow-stepped staircase so she could get into the mini excavator with ease. The instructor gave clear, humorous directions via headphones. She enjoyed every minute of digging holes, filling them in, and some precision moving objects around. Worth every penny!

We were in Vegas for about a week. Did everything, but Dig This was the best thing we did! So much fun. Lake was a great instructor and it was so awesome. Adults loved it and everyone to my 10 year old loved it. Must do it again.

My 4 year old was bored! We did the mini excavator so he could sit on my lap, but you’re not allowed to drive it anywhere. You’re basically stationary in a little stall where you can dig a hole in the rocks. There was also an employee standing right next to us, correcting every little thing. Not fun for my kid, who has envisioned getting to drive around and do some digging himself.

This was great . We took my 10 year old grandson , and got to operate a Cat excavator . He drove all by himself , dug a 10' trench, back filled the trench . Move basket balls with the excavator bucket . The Instructor was terrific , gave him instruction with radio head sets , and we could listen to what was going on .

For an individual dig (ex bid dig excavator/bulldozer) how much actual “play” time do you get?
Written 18 July 2021
I think I booked an hour. It was broken into 15 minute increments. 15 for learning the controls, 15 for digging, 15 for stacking tires, and 15 for playing basketball and spinning. Overall, it was enough for me. They may have longer times, but since my family was waiting to see other places, an hour was enough for me.

I work for a construction company and would like to wear my own hiviz vest
Would that be okay?
Written 26 May 2019
Probably, but why do that? They don't charge you to borrow a vest so you don't save any money wearing your own, and you had to go to the effort of packing and bringing it.

Can my boyfriend bring our little (10 lbs) dog in the spectator area while I do my aggression session? She would be on a leash and he would be holding her the whole time. She’s very docile.
Written 14 April 2019
you're more than welcome to bring your dog as long as the dog is people friendly and kept on a leash.

How much time total is spent there. If the activity is 90 minutes, or would we be there longer? Just trying to plan around other activities.
Written 6 December 2017
Our appointment was at 8 am & we left around 10:30 am. Our instructor allowed as much time as we wanted to take video & pictures. Plus the staff was so friendly we had good conversations with them. We did not feel rushed at all.
