This is old town Vegas and I didn't expect much, but the El Cortez gambling was excellent....great ventilation, diverse slots, complete sports book, plenty of table games. The entire place is clean, staff is welcoming and even the food was very good at the casino cafe (Seigels)....Plus - no annoying loud and obnoxious music. This last point cant be emphasized... More

If you are not a big time gambler, this is the place for you. Loose slots. Played roulette for 7.5 hours on $40. 25 cent table.

I loved this place. Nice atmosphere, good service, and great for video poker players. This is what Vegas is supposed to be like, but generally isn't any more.

Check this place out. It is really cool. The doors are tinted to give a yellowish hue, and the AC is really strong when you walk in. This is an old school atmosphere and definitely off the Strip.

I was so disappointed in the service here. There is no place to order a beer without putting money into a machine ($20 minimum). Even after doing that, I couldn't get the bartender to even look at me, much less order a beer. I tried to find a place to just order and pay for a beer, but the only... More

It's a very popular hotel friendly service and cheap food. It's very close to the Fremont experience maybe within a block.

its been maybe a year or so since I've been to the El Cortez and it feels like it changed away from some of the classic stuff I used to like. It definitely moved a little more upscale and there was no room on any tables. I never used to have an issue. I also miss the Elvis Tribute Artist... More

This casino is old school Las Vegas. Many slot machines still take coins. The best odds in Las Vegas. Very friendly staff. Great coffee shop and they recently remodeled the main bar. It is now called Ike's Sports Bar. Nice job! Photos added.

Can't compare this location with the new/moden facilites located on the strip, but here you will find the mainstay of downtown gaming. The facility has been upgraded over the years and the inclusion of glass windows and doors to see the outside is a plus. Still has the second hand smoke problem with the ventilation system. We had to move... More

Have some of the same slots and games as the big casinos. More of an "homey" experience, didn't feel like just a number.
