- Nancy CFremont, California1 contributionBest performer we sawIf you are trying to decide between seeing a mentalist, a comedian, or a magician, this show will hit the spot. We took our teenage boys to 5 shows on our weekend in Vegas, and Mike Hammer was by far the favorite. Fantastic audience participation; his magic is only eclipsed by his wit and fun with the audience. It was slightly edgy for young teens, but all in good fun.Thank you for sharing your family's experience at the show. We hope you visit us again. Mike Hammer gives a great show, combining impressive magic tricks with a lot of funny jokes and interaction with the audience. We went there with our three kids, age 9-13, and we all had a blast.
For potential visitors: parking is easy. If you go to the show and get called up on stage, please do not try to be funnier than the host. Just play it straight. If you have booked on line, you still have to go to the concierge and get tickets printed out--though the ticket you printed online does not say so. And finally, please do not bring screaming toddlers as someone did to our show. Very annoying for everyone else.

Hello Ulric,
I am always happy to hear when people really like the show.
I do want to mention that I completely know what you are saying about the toddlers.
We generally do not allow toddlers for the exact reason you are mentioning. We were a bit more lenient during these past couple of weeks with kids off for spring break.
Thank you for taking the time to post a review and visiting the show!

I wanted to like this show. I really did. It is highly rated on TripAdvisor, and outside of my flights was the only scheduled event of my trip.
I had a general admission ticket, and was seated at a small table near the front. While waiting for the show to start, they were showing clips of videos like something from America’s Funniest Home Videos. The audience was howling with laughter as the injury count piled up, and I started to have a sinking feeling that I was in the wrong place.
I thought the magic was skillfully performed, although I have seen similar effects performed many times elsewhere. Where he brought originality was with his humor and interaction with the audience. He was quick on his feet, and plenty of people were laughing hysterically. But to quote the fish in the Cat in the Hat, “Oh, I do not like it! Not one little bit!”
His brand of humor was to insult the audience in general and the participants in particular. The stage lighting may have made it difficult for Mike to see, but I witnessed one young boy who looked crestfallen throughout the remainder of the show following his “participation.” I think the reason I enjoy Mac King and Jan Rouven more is that with their humor, they are poking fun at themselves.
He posed for pictures afterwards, but I just wanted to leave and avoid any additional zingers on the way out.

Hello,
You seem like a very kind person and I can understand someone not liking my sarcastic sense of humor. I try not to hide that fact and as most people state in their reviews, I pick on the audience, although my intent is never to insult.
I am glad you had a chance to see Jan Rouven. He is a great guy and puts on a great show, as does Mac.
Thank you for sharing. :)

I love comedy and magic so my expectations were high. Unfortunately I was not just disappointed but hated the show. He began by making fun of an elderly couple that sat up front, through out the show they politely played along as he made remarks about how deaf they were, how uninformed they were, etc. Then there was the new step dad. He made him look like he married the mom to get to the daughter. Creepy! It went on with magic tricks that only needed a good microphone to work or a camera focused on those who sat in the front center square of the audience. Guess their numbers etc. He worked too hard and did not make it look easy, I would have felt sorry for him but he was so mean to people.

The show deserves to be Strip. It is much better than most shows that are performing now. Non stop laughter and action from begining to end. Great fun for all ages. I will see this show again next time in Vegas. IT IS THAT GOOD!!!

Insult comedy without wit or comedy. Prepare for a night filled with embarrassment and lame tricks. Hammer's humour resembles the kind of jokes an 8-year-old bully might make: Foreign name? Prepare to be mocked. (Haha, mispronunciation. How funny!) Big in size? You might have to stand up and comment your body. Cause we all know how funny chubby people are... (not!) Etc etc ...
Even twenty dollars are too much for this nonsense. We deeply regretted coming and having to sit through ninety minutes of insults. It was absolutely cringe-worthy. Total waste of both time and money!

Tonight my husband and I decided to visit Fremont Street. While there, we saw signs advertising for "Mike Hammer, Comedy Magic with an Edge". We decided to check it out. The box office had a discount coupon so we were able to sit in the VIP section for $25 each (which included a free drink).
The performance started at 7:00 but doors opened at 6:35. VIP tickets were seated before general admission. The venue was a small space which I loved because it felt more intimate. The VIP section was approximately 20 small tables in the front with rows of general admission seats behind it (though it wouldn't matter where you sat, you'd still be able to see really well, unlike a lot of the other Vegas shows).
While we waited for the show to start, we watched hilarious clips of people doing the dumbest things (think America's Funniest Home Video's). It was the perfect way to get into the mood for what was to come.
Mike Hammer entered and I don't think I stopped laughing the entire time. He was hilarious and so quick to think of the perfect reply when talking to audience members. I loved the magic tricks because even though we sat so close, I still couldn't figure out how he did things.
I absolutely loved this show and would definitely recommend seeing it if you need a good laugh!!!

I had very high expectations for this show after reading all of the positive reviews and I must say that Hammer EXCEEDED all of my expectations. Women, grannies, children, people in the back... noone is safe from Hammer! It seemed like the whole audience was involved in one way or another. We went to the 12/22 show and I was in tears laughing several times. Although he wasn't making people disappear or anything, I'm still not quite sure how he did any of his tricks. Easily one of the best shows in Vegas and should be considered a "must-see" on everyone's list. He even took a picture with my girlfriend and me after the show. He said "I'll be in the middle in case it doesn't work out between you two so you can cut the picture in half." Haha, hilarious! Thank you for a wonderful show and I'll be back every time I come to Vegas!

I actually remember you two based on the description of the photo we took at the end.
I am glad you folks came down to check out the show and please say hi next time you come back.
I hope your tear ducts have refilled themselves by now.
Thanks for the awesome review.

Written 29 March 2018
There's some innuendo but little or no "harsh language". The youngster would probably LOVE this show.

What time are the shows (during the week)? Specifically Fridays?
Written 29 September 2017
It says the VIP ticket allows for special seating. Does anyone know how that works?
Written 5 March 2016
The Mike Hammer Show is in a small, informal setting. There are small circular tables near the stage that seat roughly four and these are the VIP or reserved tables. Behind the tables are rows of metal chairs for the general seating ticket holders. There about four booths in the back and I believe VIP ticket holders can ask for them, but most prefer to sit up front. The tables at the front provide the best view, but you can see and enjoy the show from anywhere. When the doors open, all seating is guided by the maitre' d. He or she seats the VIP ticket holders first. General seating ticket holders have to wait in line until the VIPs are seated.

Yes. There really isn't anything inappropriate about the show and I feel like he accommodates the crowd he has at the time

I have 9 and 11 year old girls, is this show appropriate for them? Thanks
Written 29 July 2015
When we attended, there were some younger children in the audience, probably around that age. He had one of them come up on stage to "help." He gets everyone involved, and the children seemed to enjoy it too. As others have said, there is no swearing or bad language. And the adult humor he does have is pretty harmless by today's TV standards. He gets everyone laughing and it really is a good time.
Written 30 July 2015
So we are going next weekend for our five year to this show because we really wanted to see a comedian/magician. There's a $35 and a $23 ticket choice. If I don't get the drink vouchers with the $35 how much are the drinks there? I don't really drink alcohol.
