Drove out to the lake from Reno - perhaps 45 minutes or so. Gorgeous lake and mountains. There is a sand beach that is quite popular. You can swim in the lake and look up at snow-capped mountains!

What an amazing place.. The waters are so blue and crystal , yet freezing cold... Loved to look and watch the boaters ... The sunsets over this lake is the most beautiful thing to see.

This is a Must See part of Lake Tahoe. One of the best preserved, most natural areas in the Basin. Easy access and activities for all levels of physical ability and available time. Hiking, photography, wildlife, camping - it's all here!
