What a beautiful place. If you are looking for something less crowded than the slopes, visit Spooner Lake. There are nice trails around the lake that are great for those not from the mountains who haven't acclimated yet. Majestic snow-draped trees. You can rent snowshoes...More

Easily one of the most beautiful state parks in the country. No end things to look at or learn about.

This park is located just off of the highway and is very easy to access. It is a very peaceful place to stay for a bit, go for a walk, or just snap a few photos.

The best beach and Boat ramp on the Lake. We have our own special spot on the beach. You have to get there early. Big beach and smaller beaches in sand harbor. East side of tahoe

Sand Harbor is the best park on the lake. 180 degree views from the beach, also nice picnic area and boat ramp when the lake level adequate. On busy days park at the old school about the Village Market and take the bus.

I was here in June, and like everything in the area, I just reveled in the sheer beauty. Definitely with your time, and even better if you can manage to find time without the crowds.

Be sure to see this lake in any season: popular ski area in winter, but lake partially freezes over. Parking is scarce. Restaurants and hotels are extremely expensive in winter. The narrow 2 lane highway around the lake takes about an hour and a half,...More
