Our friends decided to get married at Sand Harbor. The setting is gorgeous. We were so lucky to have a warm sunny day in February for the wedding. There were not many people and it was just perfect.

But if you walk a while you can escape to some areas free of people and the views are magnificent. Really worth the effort.

Gorgeous- kayak around the lake with giant boulders and a large shallow beach. Great facilities with bathroom, restaurant, bar, parking. $10 for a day at this spot is a deal!

It took us about 1 hour from our Reno hotel to get there. The scenic view is spectacular. There is stroller friendly wooden trail connecting multiple sweet spots for visitor to see the lake and the beaches at different angles. Will definitely come back.

When we were there in July, it was often calm in the morning, and if it got choppy, it was in the afternoon, usually after 1pm. I had heard that this is normal pattern.

I prefer the sandy beach next to the Shakespear Theatre. The rocky cove is small and this year dangerous because big rocks lurk below the surface so rock jumping is risky,
