About
A short 25-minute drive from Las Vegas, the Pioneer Saloon is the oldest drinking establishment in Southern Nevada, featured on many Blockbuster Movies, TV Shows and International Media Productions. The Pioneer Saloon has been operating since 1913. Inside you will see the Carole Lombard/Clark Gable Museum (Free of Charge). The saloon was used as base camp for search and recovery for the passengers of the ill-fated DC-3 flight, where in 1942 actress Carole Lombard lost her life. Her husband Clark Gable sat at the bar for several days burning holes into the bar top waiting for news of his wife’s fate. See the bullet holes in the wall where in 1915 a card shark was shot to death for cheating at cards, ruled a justifiable homicide. The original 1860 potbelly stove still heats the Saloon today. The Saloon is also haunted as seen on the Travel Channel’s “Ghost Adventures”. Take lots of photos you may get a ghost! The Pioneer Saloon offers incredible food boasting a 10-page menu, 4 full service bars, great selection of craft beers on tap and live entertainment on weekends. Very friendly staff, a fun place to visit! Kids Welcome! Family Friendly! Dog Friendly! (on leash) Incredible Food served all day! Plenty of parking! Tours Several tours are offered through the Pioneer Saloon including The History Tour, The Star Gazing Tour, & The Haunted Lockdown Tour. Call for more information or visit our website. Disclaimer: Card Sharks are shot on site Horse Thieves are hung out back Street Girls bringing cowboys in to the saloon must pay for room in advance

This is review is of Goodsprings generally. The saloon was closed when we came. The general store was very small and had some very strange items and no one inside. The town may have some history but at this point it not a good place to visit. It is very difficult to distinguish between private property and historic structures one can photograph. I was very concerned someone was going to appear with a shotgun and tell me to get the hell off their property. I saw a grand total of two people and one dog. This town is super creepy. We bailed and went to Hoover Dam.

Came out here because of Fallout. Sadly, the memorabilia was somewhat obscured behind merchandise. However, the Saloon is itself of note, as it's very much an Old West kind of place, with much of the original furnishing intact. Business really only picks up after noon, and for the atmosphere it's best for there to be plenty of company.
We ordered a cup of chili and a pint of cider on tap - both of which can be highly recommended.
In the end, not at all a kick in the head.

If I could give this negative points I would. First off my wife and 3 younger kids (2 - young teens and a 10 year old) walk in and the young blonde lady and young guy behind the overly cluttered bar ignored us and didn't even acknowledge that we were in there. My youngest son asked if they have FarCry souvenirs because this game is based off this town and she rudely said no we don't have those anymore. She then told my wife to go next door to the bar if we wanted to eat, so we did. We sat down and ordered drinks, a salad and 3 chicken quesadillas. After an hour of waiting and being told they were coming right out I decided to cancel our order and leave. There were people who came in after us and a couple guys who got their cheeseburgers and their salads before we got our food, plus she came and asked if we wanted refills after waiting 45 minutes.

Stopped on the way from Vegas back to California and so glad we did. Right from the minute you arrive you’ll know this is a cool place with a great vibe. The history behind this place is amazing and when you walk in you feel like your vacation just got so much better. The staff was great and friendly and quick with drinks and food even though it was very busy. The drinks on tap were delicious and our meal was delicious. The live band was a great bonus as they played on this beautiful afternoon. Highly recommend.

This historic landmark is worth the drive out of Las Vegas. The food is always good and the fascinating background of the town is pretty cool.

Oldest bar in Nevada it is replete with history and ghosts. We met the owners and were regaled with stories of Lombard and Clark Gable as well as frontier poker games that involved shootings and mayhem.
Great country band playing outside. The gun-slinger ambiance can't be beat and the staff was friendly.
We were there with a large group and they handled us well. Really worth the visit if you like this sort of Americana.
The parking lot is a dust bowl however so your clean car won't be afterwards.

Character abounds in this unlikely out of the way watering hole. If you like authentic/rustic, take a break and check out the Pioneer Saloon. A weekday during Covid was no deterrent to the surprisingly diverse clientele enjoying burgers and breakfast. Outdoor seating was a little too breezy for us - we were glad to find a table inside. A big wood stove was lit just as the sun was moving below the mountains. While enjoying a beverage and waiting for food to arrive, take in the history. We each enjoyed a burger - quite satisfactory!
If you are looking for character, and can easily overlook certain hygienic details go for it.

Decided to do an early lunch here after a morning hike of the Petroglyph Canyon Trail. About 30 minute drive from the trailhead. Very cool outdoor and indoor dining. Live music. Very COVID conscious. Great history, which the waitress was happy to share. The Ghost burger was delicious, accompanied by a fantastic draft of a Reno milk stout. So glad we made the trip. Highly recommend!

Located South of Las Vegas. 45 minutes by car. Exit at Jean and turn right winding up the road for seven miles. The saloon is the oldest in Nevada. 107 years to be exact. Bullet holes in the wall add to the ambiance. In 1942 Clark Gable sat at the bar waiting news of his wife’s plane crash. So a lot of history here.

Lot of drinking happening here. Music in the evenings on the week end. The food was very average. The service was cheerful but slow. My burger came with no condiments and a un -toasted bun . Despite us telling the server what condiments we wanted. Server never returned to check on us. The sanitation standards were a bit sketchy, our table was wiped clean with a dirty bar towel, before seating us.

I guess if you stick to the booze you will be OK.

Wanted to find a new place to stop off at on our way to Vegas...came across the Pioneer Saloon. Came just to check it out and wound up staying for a beer and some lunch. There was a man playing live music out on the back patio entertaining the guests while they ate. We ordered the haunted grilled cheese and it did not disappoint. Such a great combination of cheesy and a slight spice from the jalapeño bacon, cheese and ghost sauce. After we were done eating our waiter took us inside and had the bartender give us a little history on the saloon. Great service and a nice place to chill out and get some food. We will definitely be coming back to try some BBQ.
