A very eccentric town with lots of old and interesting things to see. Some buildings are abandoned, but others that look like they were abandoned are being rehabbed now.

This is off the beaten path but the roads are paved to it. Most dirt roads once you're there. Strange assortment of fire trucks . Mailboxes and newer vehicles indicate that people still inhabit the town so feel kind of weird to be taking pictures...More

loved this place. Stopped off on our way from Yosemite national Park to Las Vegas. It really is like an old western town. Met Randy in his Saloon who sales antiques. He invited us in and played some piano which was great. And give us...More

Gold Point is located in the middle of nowhere. The entire population, according to a sign, is 27. That's twenty-seven. There is no restaurant or stores. What does pass as the latter was closed. The town itself is rundown, but if you're into photography this...More

What a grand place this must have been! It's a cool place to walk around with lots of great photo ops. This is the West, watch for rattlesnakes (they would rather slither away than bite you).

Gold Point was recommended to us by some folks in nearby Goldfield. It is about 25 miles south of Goldfield off the highway across a dirt road. Several old buildings and vehicles near an old gold mine. There are only a couple of residents in...More

This is one of my favorite place. Reminds me of Wild West movies. Will check this place again in winter. Beautiful old cars. People still live there so be respectful. Also watch out for the hares and quails. Drive as slow as you can so...More

The saloon is open for special events. I'm sure kids and probably pets would be allowed in it. Check with the host for saloon hours.
