We took a docent-led tour and our tour guide, Ron, brought the building to life. I highly recommend going this route if it all possible. On a tour, you can learn about the governor‘s portrait that keeps an eye on you as you tour the...More

As a Nevadan I enjoyed walking the grounds of my Capital. Also be sure and walk to the back to see the USS Nevada memorial and War Memorial.

I like to visit state capitols anytime I am in the area. Nevada's is pretty small and not much history about the state within it. It is a great building and the grounds are worth a stroll around.

Visited on a Sunday on our way to the view cemetery stones. The buildings hold so much history. The architecture, trees and grounds are a sight to see.

One of the smaller and simpler state capitols I have visited so far. Beautifully renovated inside, but doesn't have much character since the renovation. The House & Senate chambers are in the building next door. Can see the original Supreme Court in the capitol. Security...More

Plenty of free parking on side streets, and within a few blocks walk of the Nevada State Museum (well worth seeing as well). The monument to fallen officers is in the adjacent park, as is the statue to Kit Carson. The Supreme Court building is...More

Several interesting things to see inside. One room had a side desk where you could choose and then listen to narrated stories about important legal decisions made in Nevada in the past. Only voice, video would have made it better. The staircase railing was impressive....More

Nevada's Capitol Building complex is as modest and charmingly purposeful as Las Vegas is flashy and profligate. We were welcomed at several offices (including the Governor's!) along our self-guided tour. We recommend, especially if you have young children along with you.
