    A gorgeous waterfall
This is a gorgeous waterfall. Barnafoss thunders down a ravine and the contrast of the very blue water against the lava rocks is stunning. It is very pleasant to wander the paths to the many vantage points for different views. A very different waterfall is Hraunfossar a the same site. This one is formed by rivulets and is pretty and serene. I was here on a lovely sunny day and this was just a gorgeous stop.

    Awesome
Hraunfossar which is right next to Barnafoss is a bit more exciting as it is a waterfall whereas Barnafoss was not when we were there. The reason might have been frost as parts of the area was still frozen. Nevertheless worth a visit

    Waterfall Duo Hraunfossar and Barnafoss
This is a waterfall duo which you can check out while walking around. Will take about 20 minutes to check it all out and parking is free on site. The place is fairly popular among tourists and was on the busy side when we visited. The beauty of Barnafoss is in its overall wide span of waterfalls and Hraunfossar is on the other side which you can climb up to view.

Beautiful fall colors and blue water
Last minute stop on our ring road adventure and I am happy we stopped! Great fall colors and the amazingly blue water makes for great photos. Wish the hike was a little longer. Very easy to get to.

Worth a 1hr pit stop in Iceland! Visited Iceland in Feb 2023 for a couple weeks & it was frosty. Barnafoss & Hraunfossar (falls that are next to each other) were our first stop & it was captivating. In just 5mins, we saw winter paint the gushing waters a pale icy blue & the sun paint the far lands a golden yellow. And then it snowed lightly. If you are visiting there in winter, have good walking boots & try their hot soup by the cafe there.

Children’s Falls was quiet considering it is a tourist attraction, it is a very short walk from the car park, it is a pretty waterfall, relatively small considering other waterfalls in Iceland. It has a sad story with it that you can read about on the information board. Make sure you follow the path you will get to a second waterfall, definitely worth walking to the next one!!

Beautiful area to visit! There is a easy walkable path from the parking lot to the water. If you walk across the bridge the area is not easy to walk and it does become slick. Hraunfossar is in the same area and the path will take you there.

Beautiful waterfall that is part of the Hraunfosser and Barnafoss waterfall area. This one is a more traditional waterfall, but it does not take away from the beauty that it is. The two falls are about 125 yards apart. Don't miss this attraction! The Barnafoss waterfall would be worth visiting on its own. Beautiful waterfall flows into crystal streams. There are a ton of viewing points provided and short hikes will take you up close and personal with the falls. Awesome photo opportunities exist, or you can just relax and enjoy the view. Worth driving a little off the path to visit these falls.

Barnafoss is right next to Hraunfossar, so you can see both without much effort. There is a parking lot right next to the falls, several viewpoints, and a bridge you can walk across. There is also a cafe next door.

Very cool and unique waterfall. The water seeps through the lava and then bursts out into the river. Definitely worth driving the 30-40 minutes east from the coast to see it and Hraunfossar next door. There are paths connecting the 2 waterfalls.

Hraunfossar is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland. Worth the trip or the detour if you go to the glacier. Very different from the most famous waterfalls in the country, Hraunfossar is distinguished by its turquoise blue colors and its multiple streams of water which flow over a lava rock. Don't miss Barnafoss, which is very close by.
