Loved the walk. The first viewing platform is near the visitory centre, but then there are options for further walks. I went to the west viewing platform - easy walk but some steps so difficult if you can't navigate those. Beautiful walk with information about wildlife. Was fortunate enough to see a lyrebird. Breathtaking scenery and impressive waterfall. Highly recommended.
Small parking charge in carpark (about $4.50, but free for NPWS members). Visitor centre has souvenirs and icecreams - no restaurant.

Well worth a visit if in the area: you actually go through the centre to access the short walk to the Fitzroy Falls viewing platform: spectacular. Plenty of parking at the Centre - pay parking but free if you have a NSW Parks pass.

We dropped into the visitor centre after having finished the walk to the falls.
It is a wonderful informative centre with heaps of information regarding the fauna and flora of the falls. It has some really interesting material and where you can spend a bit of time.
Staff members were on hand to help with any questions you may have.
I wanted a map of the falls area to remember the various names of the lookouts but found there was a map which you could photograph thus saving paper. Great idea!
Unfortunately the cafe was shut down as a result of COVID but there is a large picnic area to use if you have brought your own goodies.

Usually visitor centres are just places selling magnets and explaining local maps, but this place goes way beyond. It's kinda like a mini museum, you can comfortably spend some time here exploring all the artifacts in display plus the other local produce for sale is also admirable. Finally the staff are good to chat to, too

Great visitor centre, helpful for the whole area not just those falls. Covid made the cafe closed so take water and a picnic. Stay a couple of hours, if you can, but if not, do at least go 5 mins to first viewpoint which is accessible for all. Many well sign posted walks. Go up to 4 km return around the rim with many viewpoints to more waterfalls. Couple in 50s did most of it without too much effort. Some steps. Best part was you could go as far as you liked depending on time and energy. No swimming, it’s a long long way down. Week of rain beforehand made the falls rival any seen anywhere including Nth Qld and Norway. Valley views incredible. Felt bad that it took covid for us to discover. Highly recommend. Try to have 2 days so you can see other falls in area as well.

Great facilities, good toilets, plenty of parking, picnic area, wheelchair friendly walk to 1st viewing platform immediately next to dramatic fall down the sandstone escarpment. Some bush flowers if you look. Relatively easy walk to Jersey lookout, with steps just before the spectacular view back to the waterfall. Well worth the $4 for parking.

My husband and I just recently visited Fitzroy Falls and walked part of the East Rim walking trail which had just reopened after bushfires. Wish we had time to go right to the end as it was a lovely tropical atmosphere in there. We then walked the West Rim for about 5 kms as far as The Grotto. Beautiful lookouts along the way but The Grotto was a magical place with a little grotto and waterfall that you would not expect to see. Glad we walked further on to see this.

We visited the falls in July 2020. Entry fee is $4, and is effectively a parking fee, with the voucher supposed to be left in view in your car. If you are happy to walk some distance to and from your car on a busy day, you can pay by Eftpos in the shop, otherwise take coins for the machines in the car park. The east rim track is a pleasant walk, down through the gulley, which would be good on a hot day. The west rim track is the nicer walk - path is better made, and has a few views of the falls. The path as far as the first lookout at the falls is stroller and wheelchair OK - you will find quite a few stairs after that point. A good way to spend a few hours.
