We dropped into the visitor centre after having finished the walk to the falls.
It is a wonderful informative centre with heaps of information regarding the fauna and flora of the falls. It has some really interesting material and where you can spend a bit of time.
Staff members were on hand to help with any questions you may have.
I wanted a map of the falls area to remember the various names of the lookouts but found there was a map which you could photograph thus saving paper. Great idea!
Unfortunately the cafe was shut down as a result of COVID but there is a large picnic area to use if you have brought your own goodies.

Great visitor centre, helpful for the whole area not just those falls. Covid made the cafe closed so take water and a picnic. Stay a couple of hours, if you can, but if not, do at least go 5 mins to first viewpoint which is accessible for all. Many well sign posted walks. Go up to 4 km return around the rim with many viewpoints to more waterfalls. Couple in 50s did most of it without too much effort. Some steps. Best part was you could go as far as you liked depending on time and energy. No swimming, it’s a long long way down. Week of rain beforehand made the falls rival any seen anywhere including Nth Qld and Norway. Valley views incredible. Felt bad that it took covid for us to discover. Highly recommend. Try to have 2 days so you can see other falls in area as well.

Loved the walk. The first viewing platform is near the visitory centre, but then there are options for further walks. I went to the west viewing platform - easy walk but some steps so difficult if you can't navigate those. Beautiful walk with information about wildlife. Was fortunate enough to see a lyrebird. Breathtaking scenery and impressive waterfall. Highly recommended.
Small parking charge in carpark (about $4.50, but free for NPWS members). Visitor centre has souvenirs and icecreams - no restaurant.

While looking for kangaroos we stumbled on the falls. It was raining but this gave the falls extra water in the flow. I have mobility problem but found the boardwalk was close to the fall. Great view then back to the visitor centre.

Thankfully we stopped in here to check what trails are currently open in the region. The lady was extremely helpful, and despite informing us that what we wanted to do was closed to public due to ongoing fire danger, she gave us a great range of alternative options :)
Clean toilets, great information, well kept trails.
Highly recommend!

It was located very close to the Fitzroy Falls parking lot, at the entrance to the walking trail to the falls.
It was dark and closed that day, so we didn't go inside.
I used the toilet, and it was clean. However, I thought it was a little high up.

My husband and I just recently visited Fitzroy Falls and walked part of the East Rim walking trail which had just reopened after bushfires. Wish we had time to go right to the end as it was a lovely tropical atmosphere in there. We then walked the West Rim for about 5 kms as far as The Grotto. Beautiful lookouts along the way but The Grotto was a magical place with a little grotto and waterfall that you would not expect to see. Glad we walked further on to see this.

Considering you are forced to walk in and out through the cafe, you'd expect it had decent food.
The pies, according to the signs, are great. I had the kangaroo pie, and I'm struggling to remember when I had such a dried out excuse of a pie. Some might argue it's the kangaroo meat, but frankly I could have made a pie out of cardboard or even bricks with more (any) gravy. Thoroughly unenjoyable and not cheap.
But I notice a problem with false advertising around kangaroo valley. Just down the road are "the world's greatest pies", and a couple of other similar claims nearby. This has obviously made the owners here feel comfortable serving pies that, while not completely inedible, are certainly what the average person would consider completely unacceptable. I know I did.
But don't let this put you off visiting this beautiful part of Australia. Just make sure you jump over the fence that prevents you walking past the cafe.

Once upon a time anyone could enjoy the Falls and have a peaceful day immersed in nature's wonder. Now the National Park Nazis are in charge, so expect to pay, park a long way away, see only what NP want you to see and be ripped off by the gift shop on your way out. Given that both Carrington and Belmore Falls are nearby, equally spectacular and FREE, you can safely give Ftizroy Falls a miss. A visit to Grandpa's Shed, down the road, will be way more satisfying and feel like less of a rip-off.
