Beautiful gardens, peaceful setting
Jul. 2019 • Couples
This is a very beautiful place to visit. It is located on top of Cerro el Volcán, in the southern area of Caracas, with a stunning view of the city and the massive Avila, the beloved mountain of all caraqueños.

Topotepuy is a spectacular place, with gorgeous green gardens filled with all types of trees, plants, bushes, flowers in all colors. You can sit and enjoy the view and the sensation of peace and fresh air. They offer different types of activities, such as guided visits, shows for children with music and dance, and many educational programs.

Among the different areas at Topotepuy, you will find amazing places such as the Zen Garden, the Rose Garden, the English Garden, the Cloud Forest, the Herb Garden, the Garden of All Continents, and the very special sanctuary called Gruta de la Virgen, a small grotto dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Awesome gardens, flora and view.
Oct. 2017
I live nearby Topotepuy but just discovered it two months ago or so. My first two visits were very short - actually, 10 or 20 minutes at the most and with an specific objective - and I did not have the chance to see but just a tiny part of the whole place (which was, by the way, spectacular).

Being a nearby neighbor of Topotepuy, I thought that I was already accustomed to these views but... Caracas has its enchanting secret places and I lacked the capacity of imagining that such a place could exist!

On October 12, 2017, I attended an activity in favor of promoting a coming cancer awareness national campaign sponsored by Sociedad Anticancerosa de Venezuela.

So many valiant, beautiful, intelligent and bewitching women, representing several sectors of the Venezuelan society and wearing pink blouses, joined to participate in a photography and video session to support the approaching awareness campaign!

It was a national holiday - I do recommend visiting during weekends and/or national holidays - and, having time to explore during the joyful but seemingly never ending session of photography and video, I explored the place at my own pace and leisure.

After three minutes, I was submerged into, under and below the magical beauty and peace of spectacular manicured-kept gardens filled up with so many impacting flowers plus outstanding orchids, bromeliads, ferns, trees and birds; all of them surrounded by the Venezuelan evergreen topical cloud forest.

This is a place to visit with the objective of spending the day, relax, enjoy the panoramic views as well as to discover small and tiny natural singular beauties provided by nature. If you are in a hurry, perhaps you'd be better off planning something different.

I recommend taking the tour early in the morning and then give yourself the gift of peaceful leisure until closing time.

There are small stands which offer food, beverages and desserts. I found them all very nice, refreshing, coherent and in line with the surroundings and ... addictive.

Perhaps the following tip is just seasonal but let me share it with you:

1.- Prices are denominated in Venezuelan Bolívares, there is an hyperinflation spiral developing swiftly, bills denominated in Bolívares are both scarce, almost inaccessible, almost useless because they represent way too small figures in Bolívares, and coins are worthless.

2.- My best suggestion: go along with a local who has a Venezuelan bank issued debit or credit card.

3.- My second suggestion: try to obtain high denominated bills in Bolívares.

4.- Please, do not even think in using your foreign bank issued debit or credit card. The applicable foreign exchange rate will be outrageous!

Paradise in Caracas
Sep. 2017 • Family
This is a nice and beautiful place to spend the day.

The experience encompasses:
-Beautiful garden area with benches and tables/chairs to relax and enjoy the surrounding nature. Some of them with nice panoramic view.
-Wood forest.
-Guided tour with description of flora and fauna. Takes around 45 min. You have to book it in advance the same day.
-Food court (I did not experience any of the vendors. Will try that in my next visit)
-Shop-store (in there you can book and pay the guided tour)
-Activities for kids such as puppets and group games.
-Depending of the season you can attend talks about nature preservation, bromeliads, etc.
-There are plenty of birds to see, specially hummingbirds.

If you go on a Saturday/Sunday be aware that the park is open from 10:30 to 4:30 but entrance is allowed until 1 pm.
You can buy your tickets online or at the main door. Credit and debit cards are accepted.
Senior (60) and kids from 4 to 12 pay lower fare.
There is not a dedicated parking space if you bring your car you will have to park in the main road. Although there are dedicated surveillance personnel.

Recommendation:
Try to arrive early enough to be able to park close to the main entrance.

Enchanted gardens
Dec. 2015 • Family
In the south of Caracas on top a hill there's an amazing garden that includes a jungle forest wood. It used to be the birdwatch place of Katty Phelps, and Australian-Venezuelan woman who loved nature. Today her family has transform it into an open garden that also has a beautiful view of the city. There are lots of humming birds also. Guided visits to learn about tropical plants. If you like nature, that's the place to go in Caracas

Nice place to go
Even that i have lived in Caracas for 30 years, this little place amazed me. I went with my girlfriend but I saw a lot of family going together. Food was ok, they should try to improve the quality of it, since it is a nice place to have lunch. There is a couple of guided visits that allows you to learn more about gardening and recycling. Definitely a nice place to go if you are into the nature.
