Boot Hill, located on the north side of Virginia City, was the first cemetery in the city and also the resting place of the notorious Plummer Gang. Five of the gang's grave markers can be seen today (all 5 were hanged on the same day by a vigilante group).

After wandering up the hill we found Boot Hill, complete with five pairs of boots. I guess I'm comparing it to the one in Tombstone, AZ which is very interesting. This one mainly has a nice view of the town and surrounding area.

A totally western history experience, along with the various sights, and museums in both Virginia City and Nevada City. Go on your own or take in the tour, both are great!

Very quick stop that you can drive up to. Only took 15 minutes to walk around learn some history and take a few pictures. Look out for tour bus. Not a great place to park at when a tour bus is trying to drive around.

Although there are only the 5 graves of the men allh ung on the same day, plus one of plot for a family, knowing that there are others there, seeing the map of the plots & the mouse graves, along with the view of the town below made this a worthwile if brief stop for me.

It is worth driving up the hill to see Boot Hill and the Cemetery if you are in the area visiting Virginia and Nevada Cities. Great views.

Drove up the hill to view the road agents grave sites - found an incredible 360 degree view of the area. Also, a little rodent agent grave site that was too cute to not take a picture of.
