An underwhelming walk up an old restored street-You do,get to see next door an original trappers cabin from the earliest days of Montana- makes it a worthwhile visit

Lots of things to look at, history to absorb and unique things to see. Helena is steeped in Gold Rush hisory, but there is also much to learn about the cattle history, cattle rustlers and whole other historical off shoots.

Reeder's Alley is an interesting step back in time. These old and small buildings with their old looking store fronts suggest an earlier time when life was lived on a smaller scale. Know there are places to eat and park near Reeder's Alley. Folks with limited mobility may be challenged although there are few stairs along the Alley itself..

An important historical site built by a Bricklayer from California that helped change the Town. Simple, solid and it's own period flavor of construction..... quite interesting.

These beautiful little brick cottages were built for an upscale place for the miners to stay instead of makeshift cabins ,lean twos and tents.

This is a very narrow walkway off the main street called Last Chance Gulch. The street is paved with bricks and the buildings are mostly made of bricks. Built by a mason in the late 1800s. The buildings provided housing for the male miners. Nice to see that they have been preserved by the community.

We were in town for just one evening. We sought out Reeder's Alley based on reviews I'd seen online. I'm glad we did. It only takes a few minutes to walk around, but, you could spend more time if you wanted really taking in all the shops and displays. It was a fun place to see. We enjoyed it. We... More
