We went to this museum to see the movie about Chief Joseph. However, we ended up sticking around to check out the displays. The museum is laid out well and there are a variety of items to see. If you are in the area, I...More

This museum is very impressive with extensive exhibits relating to life on the high prairie. The video as part of the National Historic Site re: Bears Paw Battlefield was excellent as was the narrative. There is something for everyone including dinosaurs and pre historic fossils.

A surprise for a small town museum. Lots of artifacts, antiques, even dinosaurs. Recommend seeing the 20 minute video to get a good overview of the Nez Perce Flight. Lots of Native clothing and artifacts. Nice dinosaur room the kids would like and local antiques.

The museum was very nice! Good video of big paw battlegrounds. Good dinosaur display in cars no large models. Good explanation of fossils as well as other aspects of that period. Good collection of western memorabilia.

Go here and see film before heading out to Bear Paw battlefield. Well done. Park ranger was excellent, very knowledgeable and he had only been on the job 4 months!

The Blaine County Museum serves as the visitor center for the Bear Paw Battlefield (part of the Nez Perce Trail) south of Chinook, so you should stop at the museum to see the film if you plan to tour the battlefield (which I highly recommend)....More

This museum has very nice displays and though small is open and roomy even though packed with displays. We are finding the local museums to be as interesting as the glitzy fee required locations. Nice in a state that charges to see natural features and...More

The museum would take 1 to 2 hours depending on you. The battlefield at minimum an hour. I spent 2 hours taking the long trail and walking with a guide .
