It's quite the hike but the reward from the views are spectacular. It's easy to find as it truly is a " lone peak".

It is wild at the top of Lone Peak! The day we went was so windy it was a little scary! Full 360 degree views - very little fencing or netting on edge so be careful! Quick 4 minute tram ride up.

Travel to the top of Big Sky on a gondola. On a clear day you can see forever! Choose to ski down or download again on the gondola. If skiing down, choose your way wisely. Lots of scoured rocks showing.

Any other way up from the swift chair than bone crusher? The ridge sounds hairy!

Yes, we went left (bone crusher is right after chair llift) and it is a gradual climb on a wide open path around the side of the peak. Not a hard hike, but spectacular views!

As much as I would love to do this excursion, I must say that I am VERY fearful of heights and claustrophobic. How can I handle this trip?

I think you can handle the height being that you have a viewing platform at the top with plenty of rails and borders to protect one from falling. However, I can not speak for the claustrophobia since I don't know how severe... More
