Visiting the Saint Louis Art Museum was a delight! I was particularly interested in seeing the Rococo, Neo-Classical, and Impressionist pieces; but, I was pleasantly surprised by the Expressionist, Fauvist, Realist, and other Modern Art pieces as well. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. In fact, one of the staff members took the time to explain... More

There is some really good art here, you just have to take the time to wander. I wish art museums could find a way to display the art without compartmentalizing it into rooms. I always feel like you miss out on a room or two because of the layout and unless you're willing to go back and forth you miss... More

This art museum is truly wonderful. It is located atop a hill in a park with lovely fountains and grounds. The collection is extensive and on this trip, it included a special exhibit on Japanese wood block prints from modern times. The Panorama restaurant within is very good, great choices. I highly recommend a visit.

Majestic building. Fountains and lake reminded me of Versaille....very impressive. Quirky outdoor sculptures and interesting art inside, even though art isn't usually my cup of tea.

We enjoyed our experience here while visiting from out of town. We were really impressed by the breadth and depth of the exhibits and, we were delighted to learn that this museum was recently identified as the number one free attraction in the country. One exhibit that caught our attention was the furniture located along several halls in the lower... More

I was really blown away by this museum! Truly a great collection of art and it is free! It is in the same area as the Zoo. We stayed at the Cheshire Hotel and walked to both. It made for a wonderful long weekend.

A wonderful and varied, wide-ranging collection. Some great Anselm Keifers and Gerhardt Richter's. Spectacularly beautiful Japanese screen, and much much more. Free on Fridays. Minimum of 3 hours and you still won't have seen it all.

Wonderful art exhibits from modern to ancient. There are many paintings, sculptures, as well as art from China, and many of my personal favorites the Impressionist era.

A good public (free) art museum. Has a small sculpture garden and rotating exhibitions (for which there is a charge). Everything's free on Fri (and they're open late). $10 for their parking garage. A good regional art museum.

Loved the displays of art, sculpture and other things. Ate lunch at the restaurant on site then continued the visit. There happened to be a music group providing great sounds. The performance was great. I especially liked the displays of European masters. The surrounding grinds with art installations were great! Could have spent two days there and not seen everything....
