I've been to this park many times, most recently last week. Normally I see a lot of animals, but did not see one single thing on this visit. It is still lovely to drive through the park as it is quite scenic.

We learned about this park prior to our last visit. We had time to kill prior to our flight and decided to take a ride to visit Lone Elk Park. It's not to far out west and we would consider this place a hidden gem....More

We drove through Lone Elk Park this summer at lunchtime. It was really hot and we didn't see any elk, but saw a herd of Bison on the road. We also saw turkeys and a raccoon.

They have trails and lots of varying animals. Be careful because they are wild. Trails are a bit steep

It is donation per car - You drive through the park looking for the animals or you can picnic. At first I wasn't sure if we were going to see anything but all of sudden, there are the Bison, just lounging in the shade. The...More

Great little drive thru park. You usually get up close sighting of deer and some bison. There are areas you can sit and have a picnic if you want to.

We did the hiking loop and saw several Elk along the way. The trail wasn't too strenuous and provided a great 3.5 mile view of the park. There were a few uphill and downhill's, but overall not too bad.

Discovered this Gem by accident, no fee, but they do ask for donations (which is well deserved). You can drive around the park which takes about 20-30 mins dependant on how many animals you see (you can also go around as many times as you...More

Yes. You can easily set the pace. Figure 20 minutes minimum. Sometimes slow traffic can slow the line down and extend the time. We've even gone around twice if there was no traffic and we wanted to see something again.
