If you want to learn about Missouri and settlement of the region, this is the place. It has many varied exhibits about the locale, with some special displays about the 1904 Fair. Also, note the Spirit of St. Louis overhead. easily accessed by Metro.

We spent a couple of hours here with our young children. They have a specific clubhouse for kids. This is a good free rainy day activity.

It's free and free parking. Went there for a lecture on local cemetery and it's famous residents that was sponsored by local community college. Was extremely interesting and then stopped off in the St Louis World Fair exhibit. Both well worth the time spent.

I was very impressed with the parts of the museum that I had time to see. The history of civil rights in St. Louis exhibit is amazing and very well done. I also enjoyed the panorama exhibit.

A big building with three main emphasis: a sobering look at civil rights in the area, some engaging, enlarged vintage photos of St. Louis' past and a fairly comprehensive look at the 1904 Worls Fair.
