Don't take the name so literally. We're about fun. Not your white walls, walk around, and be quiet museum. If you want to climb around, get active with your kids or are a big kid at heart, we're the place. If you get freaked out easily, you might not want to come. We're four floors filled with miles of tunnels, a full cave system, over 30 slides, a circus, an arts area, a large outdoor climbing space, Architectural Museum, a Cabin that serves adult beverages, a Museum of Mayhem, Mirth and Mystery, and a ton more. Also, there's the roof with a Ferris Wheel and a bus hanging off its edge.

This place is really cool, especially for the little kids. They can crawl and climb around and burn off lots of energy. I highly recommend this place for your kids especially. Not a good place for older people or physically impaired people.

This place goes on forever and you can climb on, over, or under almost every thing you find. There are caves, a 10-story slide, an area for toddlers, crafts and so much more. The outdoor area adds even more on nice days. There are multiple...More

While my knees might be sore, my memories are not!! We had the best time sliding down the slides and climbing up the "stuff." Seriously the best memories were created here!!

So much fun! A playground for both adults and kids alike. The City Museum offers more "thrilling" vertical climbs and gradual stairs. It is truly something you would have to see yourself to believe! Also, bring kneepads! I did not and it was a little...More

To quote my 12 year old, “The best experience ever.” We were visiting St. Louis for a weekend road trip. City Museum was one of the attractions my wife found. After a day out in the city and a stop in at Shakespeare in the...More

If traveling to St. Louis with children between the ages of 5 and 12, be sure not to miss the City Museum. Built in a former shoe factory, the building is several floors of some of the strangest play areas you will find for children....More

The city Museum is a must see if you are coming to St. Louis. For both children and adults. There are activities, mazes, a train and even a bar for the adults. There is a nominal fee. I think 10 dollars for adults and 6...More

Went there for a few hours as a family with teenage daughters. They loved it. If it were not so hot that day they would have liked to stay longer. There was not enough time to see everything. So many tunnels inside and out. would...More

You have to visit the City Museum if you are in StL. Regardless of the temperature it is a great time for kids up to about 16 and for parents. I recommend long pants for the slides.

I visited this museum with my wife and 2 year old daughter and it was awesome. The activities are geared towards older kids but we still found lots to do with a toddler. The caves and trails are pretty extensive, there are passages everywhere you...More

I did not see any giant aquariums when we visited July 2017. There are giant fish made of many different building materials, though!
