Don't take the name so literally. We're about fun. Not your white walls, walk around, and be quiet museum. If you want to climb around, get active with your kids or are a big kid at heart, we're the place. If you get freaked out easily, you might not want to come. We're four floors filled with miles of tunnels, a full cave system, over 30 slides, a circus, an arts area, a large outdoor climbing space, Architectural Museum, a Cabin that serves adult beverages, a Museum of Mayhem, Mirth and Mystery, and a ton more. Also, there's the roof with a Ferris Wheel and a bus hanging off its edge.

Perfect place for 7-13 year old kids. Lots of climbing, running and exploring. My 7 and 11 year old boys had a blast. I will say it is not for people that have trouble getting around. Lots of exploring and tight spaces and stairs.

This was a really neat place for kids. Our two year old had fun but had a hard time with some of the paths. He was afraid of the little tunnels and we were too big to go with him. I think it is perfect for kids 5+ as long as you're not a helicopter parent. Made my hubby nervous,... More

The City Museum is a must for children and adults! The best description is that it is a huge playground and fun for all. Make sure to add this experience to your list of places to see.

This place is a fantastic experience for kids. However, if you are older or have mobility problems you will not be able to follow them around. If your kids are under 10 they can easily get separated. You need to have an adult or older child able to crawl on their knees to keep up with them. For the kids... More

We visited the City Museum on a Monday. As noted, tough to explain but a ton of fun. Our group aged 12 to 50 had fun and enjoyed the climbing, hiding, sliding and crawling. Make sure to explore the whole building. The cafe tucked away on an upper floor was a great hideout with latte stand, food, bar and pinball... More

We decided to come and explore the City Museum over our spring break and we are so glad we did! The creative process that must go in to this is mind boggling. When you think there's no more caves and tunnels you could possibly find, you discover some place new! We spent a solid 6 hours in the place and... More

This place is amazing ! I felt like we were in a book or the movie inception. It's quite a work out to try and fit into places and crawl in and out. This isn't only for kids it's fun and you have to be willing to sorta hurt your knees. My only concern is kids getting lost but we... More

My family visited the City Museum on a rainy day and would go back in a heartbeat! We had a great time crawling through tight spaces, seeing recycled architecture and exploring all the different areas the museum had to offer. Our four year old enjoyed exploring and left with a few bumps and bruises from some of the slides. We... More

Glad I read the TA reviews before going here. It is a crazy place, but tons of fun. The three of us left hot, tired, probably bruised, but totally worth it! It's like nothing I have ever, not will probably ever, see again. Bring knee pads and a good attitude and you will have a blast.

Whether you have children or not, this is a really fun happening place. The museum is almost all made out of recycled parts that have been made into slides and mazes. It's extraordinary and lots of fun for everyone. If you are in St. Louis, you don't want to miss this.
