We had pre-purchased tickets online to ensure entrance to the arch at our desired time. We arrived early, and the arch was surrounded in fog. It was neat to see, but I was worried that I wouldn't be able to see anything from the top....More
Living near the Arch, we marvel at its beauty often while passing by. It's been over a decade since I last visited but with my daughter ready to ride to the top and renovations complete, we were excited to visit.

I can't say enough about the beauty of the Arch and itself. The Arch Museum and the movie give an excellent history of the design and building as well as of the what it represents to the United States. The new Gateway Park is in...More

So, the movie, I thought, was perfectly timed, because you are watching it, while you are waiting to board the gondolas that will take you to the top. And, remember, there are only so many people that they can have at the top and so many that can go on the gondolas, so the movie helps to kill the time.

Allen's idea is good. However, you don't have to go through security to get the tickets. I'm not sure about luggage, but you could probably leave someone with the luggage while you go in and buy tickets for the tram. The sooner the better for that so you'll get up and out before the game. If you time it right you could probably check-in fully and come back for the tram, then get dinner at Ruth's Chris steakhouse on the way to the game. Come to think of it, I think you might be able to buy the tickets online these days.
