My wife and I paid a visit to the home of Jesse James where he was murdered, this is a neat but little home, I liked looking at the hole in the wall that the bullet went through, the wood floor, two of the original chairs, and a 44 pistol that looked like the gun that killed Jesse, Bring your... We visited the museum on our way through the Kansas City area and it was well worth it. A lot of history in the house with tons of photos and relics. The shot in the wall was cool to see even though throughout the years people have dug out part of it being stupid. I think we paid $9 a... More

Great visit. We had just watched a TV special about the James brothers and it was very accurate in its presentation.

The museum small but it is a very educating place to visit!! You need to take your time and read everything that's on the walls. There is information you thought you knew but you will learn a lot more!! Staff is very friendly and informative, small gift shop. After the museum you'll have to take a short walk on a... More

If you're going to the Patee House Museum, you might as well go around to the back and visit the Jesse James Home Museum as well. It's a separate entrance fee ($4, I think), but it's worth it for the amount of information they pack in there. It's only four rooms, but just seeing the place where he was shot... More

The home is small, so it doesn't take long to tour it, but it is still fascinating. We went through the Jesse James home prior to spending the remainder of our day at the Patee House Museum which is conveniently located next door. You can see both places for $10, which is a bargain these days!

Take your time and soak in the history of Missouri's most famous outlaw in the small home where he was killed. The bullet hole from the killers shot is preserved along with other artifacts of the James Gang

As a history buff, this is a place to have on your list. However, don't carve out a lot of time for this little house. Audio tour tells about the demise of James and there is a small exhibit under glass of what was found in his grave when he was exhumed for DNA testing. You will want to spend... More

This was a nice little 10 minute tour of the house where Jessee lived for a short time and killed. Sad to learn that all of his family's possessions were sold and everything in the house was a piece from that time period, but not his.
