Always take guests here to get their pic! They just re-did the grounds so it looks really nice. Pictures are impressive #ponyexpress

The 4 plaques around this wonderful monument really give the information about the pony express. The monument of the pony express rider and horse is very life-like. Street parking next to it.

Saint Joseph Missouri was the start of the Pony Express! This is a must see statue that really brings the Pony Express to life! You can take photos of the statue from each direction. There is street parking right next to it. I was puzzled as to what the "single claw" coming out from beneath the horse was? See photo.... More

Monument is a few blocks north of the Pone Express Museum in a small park. It is worth stopping by to see

Such great history represented here. It's the sure of you're beginning of the pony express run going out to California. Lis of good reading and if you're in the area or an enthusiast, it's worth a stop.

The Pony Express Monument is a visual reminder that St. Joseph, Missouri was the starting point for riders heading west through Indian territory. There are a number of other historic sites to visit not far from the statue.

Too many people have forgotten the short-lived Pony Express. Yet, before the telegraph, this was the fastest way to get mail from St. Joseph, MO to California. A wonderful tribute to all of those wonderful young men who made a mark in history.I pass this almost every week for all of my life--still makes an impression!
