Downtown St. Charles is really cool. You can enjoy as little as a 15 minute drive down the main cobblestone street, or you can spend all day going through shops stopping for lunch and walking through more historic buildings and shops. Between Thanksgiving and Christmas...More

Loved walking through this beautiful place. It wasn’t hard to imagine the steamboats on the river and the people who lived there in the 1800. Warm and friendly people all around.

This downtown area was quaint because of the historic buildings and brick streets that have been well maintained. Blocks and blocks of shopping, snacks, dining and photo opportunities. Throw a State Park right in the middle of it all and it couldn't be any better.....but...More

Worth a trip to see the beautiful and historic architecture. A good selection of nice restaurants, shops, and cafes, too. I was impressed at the historical preservation and sensitive planning here. The Missouri River is just steps away, and the view is straight from the...More

Long cobblestone street with early 19th century buildings and atmosphere. Lots of restaurants and shops. Good for a leisurely stroll and a meal or a drink. The neighborhood doesn’t go beyond the main street however.

I like to walk the streets, enter some of the home/shops and just try to contemplate the dreams, charators, hustle and bustle of by-gone years. AS as jumping off place for the western expansion, just think of the mixed emotions, leaving 'loved ones and home',...More

Love to shop at The Flower Petaler. Unique, quality wreaths, home decor, clothing, Tyler candles & holiday shopping. Linda will take requests. Staff are always friendly and helpful. Valenti’s has delicious, quality sandwich’s, house salad & house made dressing. Grandma’s cookies are delicious & tasty.

Love St. Charles HDistrict. Loads of fun shops with unusual items you can't find anywhere else. Unique restaurants and cafes that serve delicious homecook food. The shops have all the fun items you can't wait to purchase for gifts. Go everytime I'm in town.

Went with group of friends in the evening and stayed until dark. Neat atmosphere but more for adults. Variety of restaurants. Weekends often have events in park

Each store has their own hours. Most closes at 5:00pm but there are a few that wants the most out of the day and closes at 7:00pm. And of course the mini-brewery is later.
