For those of us who reside north of the Mason Dixon Line, Athens is truly a gem, as we seldom have the opportunity to touch Civil War history. As a battlefield, a ghost town, and a lovely, well maintained park, Athens rounds out as a...More

Good local history about the farthest north Civil War battle fought in Missouri. It's a nice park, but not a lot to see except for the Cannonball House

Well maintained and well kept historic site that gives a great sense of just how divisive the civil war was in this area. Not easy to get to, but well worth the effort. Don't miss this spot!

The park holds a Battle re-enactment that is always fun and entertaining. There is a shelter house, nature hikes, and historical markers for all to enjoy.

The person at the museum was wonderful and knowledgable. The site is well kept and clean. The buildings are in good repair and signage is great. While it is not a major civil war site it is nice and part of Missouri's heritage,
