We found Sokol Grad interesting, but TBH there isn't a lot to see. The steps up are very steep and uneven but views are amazing. The little church and graveyard are interesting too but we're disappointed that there wasn't more to see - very limited...More

On first approach this rocky fort risks being passed by but it is well worth further investigation. It does have many steep steps but is being well restored and has excellent reconstructions and explanatory boards.

We found Sokol Grad to be a very charming castle. It is not very large but recently restored. It is a bit of a drive up the mountain where it is located but we found it worth the drive. Fantastic views and pleasant surroundings. Very...More

We loved Sokol Grad. It's a small castle in the hills inland from Dubrovnik. It takes a bit of finding with the Sat Nav taking us along some interesting roads. We went in August and there can't have been more than 1/2 dozen people there at...More

Forget booking a tour to Sokol Castle . . as some comments say, 'a bit expensive' ... like us, rent a scooter for a few days and go. From Cavtat you'll get there in under half an hour. The route to Sokol is great, climbing...More

Interesting restored fort, in fantastic surroundings. 50Hk to get in. Steep steps to get to top. Great views of area. Well with the drive of the beaten track. Limited parking.

Small castle a bit off the beaten track but a great view and has been fully restored (only criticism maybe over-restored and a bit pricey). A small museum with Bronze Age, roman and other collections and freedom to wander around and enjoy walking the walls

This is an amazing castle, beautifully restored. You can visualise its importance in the landscape, and you can see it for miles. There are very interesting displays in English as well as in Croatian explaining the history, and there are effective sound effects around the...More

After driving for about an hour from Dubravnik, we came to Sokol Grad which was neglected for 300 years, then restoration started in the late 60s. It is now to a very high standard in terms of quality of restoration and in displays and exhibits....More

We enjoyed the many historical and architectural facts presented. The story of it's restoration was inspirational. It was a little over priced in my view but I soon got over it. We ended the tour with an ice cream on the top terrace enjoying the...More

Not too sure about weekends but was open around 7 hours a day. There were still workers there when we went restoring the brick work so seemed to be open most days.
