This is a spectacular drive, very picturesque, through to gorge. Steep in some areas, and a very windy road where it pays to take notice of suggested speeds around bends. It took us about 15 minutes to drive through and my only regret is that we didnt swap drivers for the return journey as it was important to really concentrate on the road limiting the sightseeing available to the driver. Even though it was a very winding road, it was a relaxing drive through the countryside. Would definately put this down as a must do attraction.

This gorge is the cut through from the Mt Remarkable town of Melrose to the Pt Pirie side.
It definitely worth the drive as the gums and creek is very picturesque.

Very pretty drive through deep ravines and eucalyptus lined roads. Along the way check out historic Bangor

Second time we have driven this road and it still holds a magic that only the Flinders Ranges can offer. We travelled from the Horrocks Highway to Highway One. The photos were taken from the passenger’s seat - just in case you were concerned. As the drive is quite windy, it is important to watch the speed and follow the speed limit suggestions.

The Telowie Creek runs to the side of the road and it is amazing to think that such a small creek could have cut through the rock across ages to form this superb gorge. From Horrocks Highway, there are wheat fields and other pastoral lands before getting to the Gorge proper. The view coming down towards to Highway One is stunning and being able to see across the Gulf to Eyre Peninsula.

I would recommend that as a foretaste to other gorges found in the Flinders Ranges, it is a must to drive the Port Germein Gorge Road.

VERY INTERESTING rock formations and construction! Had great admiration for the people who constructed this road!
